I'm not sure how being a celebrity alters one's brain, but in many cases, it seems to thwart the person's ability to censor themselves and not say everything that comes into their head.

We really need to be able to praise people without the bulk of said praise being a dig at someone. I mean the overall message of "More of yall should put respect on Janet's name because even mainstream queen Britney admits she is a huge influence" is a good one but the way Lizzo phrased it is just so unnecessarily rude  Like...

The word "imitator" is so loaded. Why not say Britney was a student of Janet Jackson, or a big admirer? That would be a way more positive way to put it that respects their professionality
