That might be the plan but its catching a falling knife. Congress will allow a "discount" but they probably won't allow a crash. It won't take many Republicans to get something rolling.

Honestly, I may be wrong but I'm hopeful it will be for the better of the world. The crumble of the empire is gonna be hard on U.S citizens but maybe it's good that BRICS countries are aiming for a multipolar world. 

I saw somewhere that if everyone in the world consumed what the U.S consumes in a year, we would need 5 planet Earth in resources. Maybe it's time to take it down a notch and get a taste of the "third world" they try to maintain with their imperialism. It's time we begin an age of international cooperation and snap out of the illusion of hegemony and power. The United States as a whole is a big arrogant bully. It's time for a macro renovation.

Seems to be a US thing that every 100 years they reintroduce tariffs because the people who experienced the chaos they bring are dead and cant tell them its a stupid idea.

This is a deliberate tactic to bring the public to its knees so all of that orange mother ****er's billionaire buddies can buy up the entities that default and can't sustain themselves in a market crash. Everything he does has a purpose and is done with the worst of intentions. The tariffs never had anything to do with "these countries ripping us off for years". Funny how the king of grifting spent months complaining about grifting but alas every accusation is an admission of guilt.

What are the main benefits of tariff's in general? Can't all countries just agree to scrap them so everything costs the same base price no matter which country you're ordering from/too?
