ABRACADABRA really is that GP hit

Some monsters will remember a time when we wondered whether Gaga would actually have a GP-level hit again, especially a new dance SOLO record* and not a ballad or feature….

But I feel Abracadabra somehow changed everything again.. , I see it cropping up on really random non-gaga-related videos which I feel like is such a crazy, viral signal that she really is that b*tch again in 2025…

Here’s an ABRA Amazon advert on plugs 🔌?!?

where else are you seeing it? In NON GAGA content…?  The more random the better

Share, stream, like, subscribe, worship, kneel, pray, obey - long live goddess of abra, peace out crazy witches  🔮✌️

*Note we of course know that it wasnt essential for her to reach this milestone again, as she continued to evolve into the multidimensional superstar actress pop jazz philanthropist entrepreneur hybrid we see today, which makes this return to classic Gaga even more special

They played it at my gym where a lot of straights hang :abra:

Gyms arent much promo tho. At least from my experiance at least 90% of ppl are listening to their own music and the other 10% can barely hear the background music as its kept too low relative to ambient noise

Everyone knows Abracadabra. I don't think charts reflect the reality anymore.

Charts have never felt more out of touch tbh

Id argue what u see on internet is an even worse reflection of how big a song is or isnt tho. At least charts take in real data like streams, digital sales and the controversial inclusion of radio

But internet now is so algorithmic and taylored to each person that what your seeing and are recomended does not necessairily reflect what most people are seeing. I get recomended Abra videos constantly but most have no more than 10k or 20k viewes. If most ppl were seeing that it would be way more. That tells me this abra fever is not universal (although all things considered its doing well overall)

Maybe its different where you live I dont know... but in my part of Canada at least, I can not say that many people know abracadabra and ive never heard a single person mention it or play it. Only yesterday i finally heard a non remix version on radio that doesnt mix it with another song. All popularity ive seen of the song has been purely online where I cant trust that what im seeing is what most others are seeing :oprah:

I was in a club yesterday after a long time and they played Abracadabra and everyone was loving it. DJ also played TEOG and Applause :cheeky:

One of my friends heard me talking about Abra and said she can't listen to it, because the song is everywhere on her socials and they play it constantly int he radio here in Europe and she is so fed up with it :selena:

I'm not having fun tonight.

Gagaism

Well, I had a gig last week which was basically serving tourists kids (at their 12-17) meals at a bar so I connected my AppleMusic and had Mayhem playing nonstop on the background :gaycat:

once miss Abra showed up I could hear some of them “oh listen, that’s Abracadabra” and then they were singing along and trying some choreo. It was nice

I always base a pop song's impact by whether it makes it onto the drivetime playlist for BBC Radio 2 in the UK.

And Abracadabra is on there and played regularly. Which is massive for a woman of Gaga's age (bbc radio playlists are notoriously ageist).

I don’t know about 40s+
But yeah, charts don’t mean a lot, especially US charts

I get your point but even if the algorithm is biased, streams, plays, and videos made on platforms like TikTok/Reels say otherwise. The audio use count for Abra on TikTok is 716.1k, almost a million, whereas Disease is at 70.8k, so no that’s not just the gays being soccer moms I’m sorry.

Also, a new pop Gaga song hasn’t been played on my local radio maybe since Applause probably, maybe ROM was played here and there. Now it’s finally happening with Abra, and for that song to be played here is a miracle :poot:

Idk about never getting a GP hit again. I figured with the right radio friendly duet she could have a hit (although I didn’t think it would necessarily be as huge as DWAS). She could probably still even get a cute moderate solo hit with the right song.

But not a solo dance hit. (At least one that charted outside of dance charts) That’s damn impressive! Especially since she’s almost 40. Ageism is unfair but it’s alive and well. Abracadabra being a worldwide hit in 2025 is a testament to her fixture status in the music industry.

This is interesting, the power of algorithm certainly can skew perspectives of universal popularity! (…SUCH a DEEP topic actually, and such an influence on today’s culture.. scary actually …) - begs the question that maybe only the ‘overseers’ of our daily algorithms really know what’s truly popular by having all the data 🫢

At my local level (UK), I have non monster friends, who are all really different in music tastes - they all know (and like!) the song.. which gives me a bit of an indicator…. It gets radio play as well…

Anyway, collectively I do get the general ‘vibe’ this is growing as her most popular DANCE POP SOLO song for a long while…
