Notthebling 1,895 Posted yesterday at 04:03 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:03 PM (edited) With Mayhem Ball, Coachella and the summer shows around the corner, I want to discuss the music aspect of the previous tours, speficically what are your highlights, and what tour was the best in terms of live renditions. Here is my take : TCB : Highlights were Replay (intro is heavenly), Sour Candy (dance break extended), Stupid Love intro and the interludes (instrumentals were fantasical). Other than that, it was pretty straightfoward and I wished she had remixed and reworked more of or her songs (Alice sounded flat, Free Woman, Fun Tonight & Enigma were looped forever in a boring way) Enigma : Nothing crazy there tbh... straightfoward version of her songs, good show but I really would have loved for her to play with her music and twist it in a new fresh way. Highlight was the Just Dance intro (while she was flying.. I mean it was just epic and emotial really), the inerludes (some fun k-pop elements but nothing crazy) and that's about it. JWT : Honestly, this one is underrated. I loved how she rearranged songs and vocals (Poker Face & Alejandro ... I mean she sung them like never bofore). Born This Way with the Bowie extro was AMAZING, Paparazzi, Perfect Illusion, the interludes, the intro. It was VERY well put together musically, top 3 for me ! ArtRave : Very fun show but nothing crazy again with the reworking of her shows. I LOVE the intro into ARTPOP, it's just so grand, the Venus intro "to the planet" was also very fun. I wished she had turned more songs into a rave-vibe tbh. BTWB : Very dark-opera vibe, while I appreciated it, I found it to be somewhow low-energy. Interludes were long and not "hyping". Highlights include the Heavy Metal Lover intro, Born This Way, Highway Unicorn but once again most of it was straightfoward. TMB : That's the one. If you know, you know. The INTRO song is just amazing, the synth before Just Dance when she plays in the car, Lovegame extro with the remix, the outro of SHICD with the electric guitar damn that show was crazy. Top 3 for me. TFB : The first time we got to hear how she wanted her songs to be theatrical in a brand new way. Highlight is Paparazzi FOR SURE. Few little remixes but nothing crazy again. So what are your opinions on this? Truth is I'm DYING for new versions of her older hits. I want mash-ups, remixes, new vocals for Mayhem Ball. Abracadraba at SNL was everything I hoped for so praying the entire show is like this!!! Edited yesterday at 04:08 PM by Notthebling Dat - doo - deet - doe. Schwerk 7,125 Posted yesterday at 06:44 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:44 PM The Monsterball imo. That intro still gives me chills. The live backing vocals are amazing. So is the violinist. The city interlude still gets me in the mood to go clubbing today. The lovegame outro was always such a moment, we all went nuts. Her artrave vocal changes also come to mind, she started using her higher, softer register more. Especially when she did covers like Bell bottom blues. She had never explored that sound during live shows before, it was very 'Stefani', very young and sweet (apart from Whats up lol). To me suprise by the time she got to Paris and filmed Artrave, she started to scream and shout throughout the show. I love her screams, but this was a lot. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch
