TaylorSwift 162,435
At least 6 people have reportedly died and 9 have been injured after a 44-seater tourist submarine sunk off the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Hurghada. The Russian consulate in Hurghada said all the tourists on the submarine were Russia citizens. Emergency crews were able to rescue 29 people. The incident, involving a recreational vessel operated by Sinbad Submarines, occurred in waters opposite Hurghada’s Marriot Hotel resort. The Sinbad club’s website says it offers short tourist trips in two submarines that it operates that have a maximum depth range of 25 metres. According to the website its submarines allow tourists to “experience the beauty of the Red Sea’s underwater world without getting wet”. Many tourist companies have stopped or limited traveling on the Red Sea due to the dangers from conflicts in the region. source apnews https://store.taylorswift.com
vmpiregrn 1,233
I don’t know **** about operating a submarine but 25 meters is roughly 82 feet (American here), I feel like submarines would be much too tall for that to be a comfortable maximum depth…surely they need more wiggle room than that Anyway the ocean terrifies me and the idea of going any deeper than I could comfortably swim is a big no. I was so wrapped up in the Titanic submersible saga and the depths that thing went to…Hell no. Awful for those who lost their lives
