I'm from DR and I was planning to go to Copacabana. The Madonna concert by the same company was a success, they have good sound and video and a lot of protection too. But unfortunately, my savings are invested and I can't use them until September...

So if I were you, I would go to Gagacabana, and get to the closest place you can according to your budget (but not in favelas because Uber and taxis can't go up there.

 

For the closest, Mexico and Miami are good options, I would need around US$800 for a plane ticket, hotel for 2 nights, and the cheapest seat at the Kayeka Center or whatever is called. I haven't checked the prices for Mexico. Singapur is hilariously expensive.
