I dunno why a bunch of grown ass adults care so much about these remakes. It’s for children. It’s not that deep.

Kids deserve quality entertainment. And since Disney is for the whole family, it should be fun for adults as well. Aaand this remake is based on one of the more important movies in history, so people had high expectations and wanted it to be respected. The original is so old that people of all ages have grown up with it, so yeah nostalgia is a big part as well. Outside of Disney, next to Cinderella, Snow White is probably the fairy tale that has been adapted to screen the most. Not all of those are as traditional but it's more accepted if it's not a disney movie

Movies like this are an escape from reality. Same goes with action movies and sci-fi. I love dramas and documentaries that are close to reality. But I enjoy these sort of fun films that’s as you said, aren’t that deep.

This one did have an overall message that resonates with current times about greedy narcissistic leadership leading to wealth inequality and unhappy citizens. I would say both kids and adults can enjoy the film because sometimes adults need a reminder that being kind is a good trait to have.

They aren't tho - they're nostalgia cash grabs, they're supposed to appeal first and foremost to adults who grew up on Disney, who will take their children to see these films - without them I doubt many (if any) kids will flock to see these remakes based on Disney brand alone.

You're kinda correct that people who dislike these movies should really stop giving them attention as it's what keeps getting these movies made. However, I do also think that sh*tting on them is perfectly acceptable pasttime - it's not that deep, as you say :flower:

Disney needs to end the remake train.

Especially when they've increasingly gone down the route of rewriting beloved classic movies that have inspired decades of disney fans.

Exactly.  Certain classic movies that were made so perfectly and are so loved should not be remade.  It's almost like an insult to the original.  If Disney thought they could do a better job, they are being proven to be mistaken.

I live outside the space time continuum.
