I know I’ve said this before but conservatives really are threatened by education because it liberates people and gives them a power that they don’t like. They want everyone to operate within a narrow world view and not emancipate themselves.

Won't be long before they ban travel outside the US so they don't see other cultures exist and their countries and citizens are happier than them :ladyhaha:

Americans are literally indoctrinated that they are the best country in the world and yet they fail at the basics, education, safety, infrastructure, access to walkable places etc

I watched a doc on UK TV where they swap UK and US kids schools and the US school had them blaring out some patrotic thing every day and all the kids had their hands on their hearts singing Americas the best or whatever, so weird and funny to me. Sorry for the rant

I believe you're referring to the Pledge of Allegiance. It's done everyday, first thing right before class begins. But yes, in hindsight it does seem a bit odd lol

It's giving N Korea to me idk, also isn't it something like "under god". What if you're an atheist or not Christian do you still have to sing the song :wtfga:

From my memory, it started with something like "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America" something, something "a nation indivisible and united under God." Take the words with a grain of salt, I can't remember the last time I said the pledge out loud lol

But yes, all the kids, in my class at least, were expected to stand up, put their right hand over their heart, and say the pledge. Then, we'd begin class like nothing happened. I never knew why we had to do it nor did I give the words much thought, I always thought it was boring.

edit: My school and class was very diverse with kids from many different backgrounds, I don't recall whether or not any of them practiced any religion, but, I think they probably shared the same sentiment of "let's just get this over with" as me. If anything, it'd probably be the parents who would take issue, but I don't know if any did. At least none that I'm aware of.

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands. One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all"

I graduated a decade ago and I still know this junk by heart :kry:

The way you'd get in trouble for not standing and reciting it too whew

Cavadour

Beginning on May 10, 1933, Nazi-dominated student groups carried out public burnings of books they claimed were “un-German.”

Bad omen.

Late to the party but I got a diamond heart

America will have to crash and burn before anything will ever change.  That’s where we are.  It was bound to happen at some point in history, may as well be now.

Exactly what I’ve been saying.

We were warned about this; Project 2025 is real, and Trump is going to impose it on USA.

Disturbingly the Trump admin is only a few days behind where he wants to be in the Project 2025 roadmap

I 100% recall the one nation part, but not the republic part. :oprah:

Also yeah, I know the teachers would call you out if you didn't say it word for word or stand up. :what:
