robotvoiceinalice 1,490
lets not compare a tragic attempt at "going back to where it all started" and how bland that album is to an absolutely flawless album from start to finish that lies within Chromatica 3

It makes me think of MJ having his son speak in a song from his last album She does uplifting and fun music so well, you have to wonder why she's sticking with that tired man and his busted sample packs. He's never gonna capture lightning in a bottle again, she should diversify tbh. And yeah, nothing on this album felt like nails on a chalkboard just all but maybe 3 songs (from the deluxe version) are utterly pointless and forgettable 🧡The blindfold's off my eyes, all I see for me is better days🧡 1

Yeah the only songs I would call flat out **BAD** on 143 are I Woke Up and Has A Heart, the others are just forgettable See The Best In Everyone

Red 97,526
Anyone could make Katy Perry’s nachos but only Gaga can make her nachos. Like, “this sounds like a Katy Perry song” is something no one ever said, she doesn’t have a signature sound. When people say she’s re-heating nachos it’s because she is making safe music, not exactly re-using sounds from before that are known to be hers. If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

The producer of TEENAGE DREAM if only Katy would have worked with anyone except Dr Luke the snow ball wouldn’t have started Waiiiit Cirkut produced TD??? And she picked Luke? 1

theringleader 11
Katy has never been in touch with her artistry. Witness is perhaps her most unique and ambitious effort in that sense, so it's a shame that that era wasn't as well received. I think her hair being cut short had something to do with it lol because the music was fantastic. But she really is a cringe artist, in my opinion, and has not shown any artistic growth. She's a singles artist at best, but even at that, she has not found a way to evolve during her time in the industry. She truly got lucky with the singles she put out, but I would never put her in the categories of Gaga, Britney, or any top billed artist. it's hard to explain, but in a way she's a fluke.

SevenWonder 4,257
I've never had any interest in Katy at all. She's just too blatantly commercial for me. Never listened to 143 and never will. That said, I love your take on things. I often don't agree (I think putting DWAS on Mayhem was a genius move on all fronts), but I enjoy how you break things down. You have such clarity of thought. I'd totally buy a book where you breakdown various pop stars, what worked for them and what didn't, etc., for sure. I heard it was one of the producer's kids actually (hopefully not Dr. Luke's, eugh), but I don't think there's confirmation who exactly the voice is But honestly I think Katy is just not capable of being self-aware to realize that just because she works with Dr. Luke (or any producers of her old hits), it doesn't instantly mean she can have another hit song and/or album - like someone close to her just needs to get through to her brain to diversify her team or contacts or something Edited March 13 by Lord Axel ʟɪᴠɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ɢᴏʟᴅ ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱɪʟᴠᴇʀ ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍ ϟ†▽✰𝒿 ~Ɐ
