I don’t have the vocabulary to describe it but there’s this vocal inflection (?) she utilized a lot during Born This Way that I’m hearing in the performance of Abracadabra that’s making me happy. Like when she would sing — Jud—AAs. Also does Abracadabra acoustic kind of sound like something Amy Lee would sing to anyone else? Maybe just me lol

I like that she's giving some spotlight to all the songs in the album, not just the singles. Reminds me of ARTPOP, when she'd perform Gipsy, Dope, Venus, ARTPOP, etc. Is just nice seeing her honor all the songs she wrote, regardless of whether or not they'll be sent to radio.

I believe it’s masking? Like she’s putting the vowel way in her face and nose to give it this really hard nasal tone.

Loooved abracadabra. Very retro Gaga acoustic. I felt like perfect celebrity had good elements and moments but I missed some of the grit and anger of the record’s version. In both cases I love how she leaned into both being a little more rock. Works for Howard and his audience but also a fun way to hear the songs reinterpreted

Part of it is definitely how she places it in the mask, but another part is also the combination of using a nasal twang and lifting her soft palette to round out the forward element of the mask placement with a deeper resonance. She’s such a fckn good singer lmao
