Willeo Soeurs 37
I guess they were hoping for the whole album to sound like Abra or Disease That being said, its their loss. Ask them to wait another 4-5 years and try to hate again.
chun li 2,910
Oh i’m VIBIIIING to those songs so much I'm having the best time But I do think the album title/aesthetics/booklet/promotion was HEAVILY misleading and doesn’t fit the vibe of the actual music AT ALL so if anybody was expecting dark goth emo music i get them because gaga girl... u did them dirty 2 1 1
misha4ever 2,075
Eh? I only read a few people here, including me, who are not fond of 70s-80s sounds, but at least for me, I'm still processing the album. I see most people, fans and gp, loving it. english is not my native language >.<

DISZKO 787
I am personally a huge fan of disco (username duh) love all her pre fame tracks that are funk and disco inspired. Retro dance freak, disco heaven are such bops. I was very very happy when I heard these tracks. I love the raw funky vibes woth her growling and playing with her tone. I could totally see her explore the type of music like Killah This Era i told myself im not gonna have expectations and from previous experience i expected that the album might sound totally different to what I would think it is. Pleasently surprised, cant complain! I would hope for the extra songs to be on streaming platforms but they are exclusive so no chance i think.

I mean yes its not what people generally think of disco or funk but creative freedom allows to play with aesthetics, there have been many subgenres of disco, synth and electronic music. Loads of experimental french, italian producers created obscure albums with dark imagery when it was disco. check out Black Devil Disco Club for example. His whole album is dark electronic funk singing about the devil and bad acid trips. also we are just getting into the era, we dont know what Gaga will bring to us visually for the singles. Im sure it will make sense. Edited March 11 by DISZKO
Red 97,985
Apparently I’m not a fan? If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

I mean, there was also her saying that what suprised her the most was how hard the beats were, but the harder beats on the album are Disease and Abracadabra, also her describing the album as a series of gothic dreams, and altho thematically it kind of fits that description, the sound of it is way less darker than what anyone would think a Gothic dream sounds like... Also her remarking how the songs on the album were exercises on chaos also made me picture a harder and darker sound, i don't even think this is the more chaotic album she has, i think BTW and ARTPOP are more chaotic and would fir better that description I know that she said to expect the unexpected and that with with the firsts two songs you'd know what kind of album you're about to listen but then you don't, however with the picture she was painting previously i think that is understandable how anyone would've thought that unexpectancy would go in a different direction I think she shouldve maybe allude more to the retro, disco and funk vibes of the album which was what most of the songs ended up being like, which was a total surprise, and maybe that's what she wanted, but it was pleasant to some people and kinda disapointing for others 1
