Sonically, production wise I don’t think ARTPOP is really up there as many fans really think but obviously liking something is subjective. For a lot of fans it was an introduction to electronic music beyond pop but it wasn’t as experimental or unique sounding as people claim (in my opinion.) regardless this, I understand people’s hype about it. 
 

very happy about Mayhem’s placement because even tho TFM and BTW have been my favorite, Mayhem really showcases her variety and skills as an artist and is hands down one of her top albums so far.

@B33Fre33 you can “lmao” it but half of ARTPOP was using beats that were produced for different artists and thats a fact. Its just really knowhere compared to TFM BTW and Mayhem and I say this with love and respect towards Gaga.

Mayhem obviously deserves more, but Gaga doesn't have Jay Z standing behind her so 8.0 is quite literally miraculous. It absolutely deserved the Best New Music designation, but, I'm stunned they scored it as highly as they did, so lets take the victory.

I’m so happy for her. I agree that the album could have been killer at 10 songs (initial 8 track run + shadow of a man + DWAS) BUT I’m so grateful for the additional 4 and Gaga has always been over the top. Born This Way was also ‘overfilled’ but I now can’t imagine it without any of those songs.

 

This is a great review and I’m so glad she broke 8. On par with Short N Sweet, Sweetener, and Ray of Light, which checks out to me. She stays winning this era!

Regardless of the score, the written review is lovely and a true appreciation for her as an artist. To me, this is her best record top-to-bottom, a it’s a thrill that she’s finally getting her flowers

Agreed about CTSH, but also think KFL deserves a spot on the tracklist, too. IMO tracks 1-8 including CTSH, then KFL into SOAM -> DWAS would be a banger.
