I feel like it might just be bc she can’t announce US shows until after Coachella.  

Alternatively, I could see her having one show that is more comprehensive of her catalog (“greatest hits” type show) for places she hasn’t been in 10+ years.  Since the US, Europe, and Japan were all on TCB and other tours, the shows might be more Mayhem-centric.

I consulted my special source (ChatGPT) and I can confirm that Coachella has a “radius clause” where artists can not perform nearby for 3 months before and after Coachella. It also said it’s mostly common for artists to announce their tours right after Coachella because of the buzz and momentum. That clause means she can’t perform an LA date until July the earliest. So she’s probably saving the announcement until Coachella.

I suspect that as a Coachella headliner she may be contractually forbidden from announcing a “tour” until after the festival. They want to drive interest for Coachella ticket sales, and a tour detracts from that.

if she's taking the same staging and production from Coachella to the Mexico, Rio and Singapore concerts (which is the most likely thing to happen given how close the dates are) i really doubt she will have the time and resources to design a whole new show for the tour in time for summer, especially when May is almost summer already

About coachella. This is possible but still weird, cuz announcing the tour in April for a summer start is way too late. People won’t have time. We’re talking about end of April for coachella> tour announcement. Sales don’t go the moment they announce a tour, but likely a week after. So a sale in may for June/June start is absurd

This actually makes so much sense to me!  If she isn’t allowed to fully announce the tour, but she still needs to sell some of these dates now, maybe that’s why she’s just announcing these specific dates without mentioning the whole tour.

Blackpink is doing this year’s coachella and they announced a tour, so probably Gaga can do it too

Same. It’s been way too weird this time. Compared to chromatica ball, where she announced it before the album release, this time we don’t even know if it’s this year.

I think this IS a tour. There's no rule that all tour dates must be announced at the same time. She's not a small artist to be doing 'promo' shows, and these concerts are in stadiums. She's just rolling out differently which fits the theme of MAYHEM
