MAYHEM signs were there

When she did The Rolling Stones interview for Disease I was instantly taken back to this Gaga in 2008. I always liked how excited she was about music during that time and I saw that same energy and spark in that more recent interview. This was one of the first signs where I thought of her in this stage.

When she put her unreleased tracks on YouTube under Mayhem I was also reminded of this Gaga. I used to love Filthy Pop, Retro Dance Freak, Retro Physical etc.

Another sign was the Siouxsie and The Banshees credit. Initially I thought she was inspired purely by 80s goth but now I know she was just inspired by 80's in general and all of the things she loved during the time she started out. I believe this is why she described returning to pop because she was returning to the time that made her Gaga to begin with.

The cover and title just clicked instantly after hearing the album. I believe the cover art is meant to mimic The Fame album cover but the difference is how much time has passed and the trauma etc since then it's almost as if the The Fame CD was dropped and cracked and all the time that withered away. It represents the music. She has taken her old style and influences but brought it to the present and it's not as shiny and new as it was before. The music may sound like it but the lyrics are dark. I think this is why she describes it as putting the pieces back together. This is kind of just my thoughts after really listening and thinking about this album.

Apparently she didn't and it was YouTube's auto thing? Has that been confirmed either way now? :enigma:

I don't think anyone knows for sure but personally I think it was done on purpose to prep us. A lot of the new songs sound like those unreleased songs. But who knows.

I think so too tbh it didn't make sense that it would be only those unreleased songs that auto generated

And the black hair with bangs is a callback to the pre The Fame era Gaga
