I've now watched it three times and... Omg, i love it. The drums. The scream. The outfit reveal. Made me appreciate the song even more! Knowing she has fibro but slayed that floor choreo was a joy to watch, the crazy eyes and manic drum playing was so AP coded, the scream was out of this world and the dress rip and ending...our girl was feeling herself. I'm hard pushed to find another mainstream act that can put on a performance like this, she is an original in the current landscape. My only criticism looking back is...was that scream pre-recorded? I just noticed that it kept going in a faded reverb way after her mouth closed and she stepped away from the mic. I don't know if SNL performances are partly lipsynched but it sounded live to me and I just noticed that on the last viewing and wondered. No one else has mentioned it, though. Michael could have easily changed because the sweater would be ‘weird’ for the afterparty. And they’re both wearing a black hat.
