CubbyGaga 2,443
I genuinely love every single song on Mayhem so much. I can’t possibly rank them. So instead I’ve made a list of influences each song touches on. Disease - Nine Inch Nails Abracadabra - Classic Gaga Garden of Eden - 2007 Britney/Nelly Furtado Perfect Celebrity - Hole/Linkin Park Vanish Into You - Duran Duran/Wham! Killah - Prince/David Bowie Zombieboy - Early Madonna/B-52’s Lovedrug - Foreigner/Journey How Bad Do U Want Me - Yazoo/Michelle Branch Don’t Call Tonight - Ace of Bass/Pet Shop Boys Shadow of a Man - Michael/Janet Jackson The Beast - Phil Collins Blade of Grass - Pat Benetar Die With a Smile - Sonny & Cher Edited 12 hours ago by CubbyGaga 6

starcell 367
As a massive NIN fan, there’s bits of NIN in more songs. The ending of Garden of Eden is very Year Zero, Perfect Celebrity is so With Teeth meets Pretty Hate Machine, especially the ending, and Trent’s soundtrack work in the beginning of the song, some of my NIN friends thought Can’t Stop the High and The Beast had some moments as well. I’ve read a few from the NIN sub and Fantano thinking Killah had moments too. The sub has been sharing a lot of songs and thoughts there, generally positive so it’s been nice to see! It makes sense bc Trent was also very inspired by Bowie and Prince. Edited 1 hour ago by starcell 1

I would say the same about the MJ influence. Honestly, she masterfully blended so many styles and vibes into each song it's nuts Hard to be the 💛 in a 💜 sky
