Even that one I think is quite ironic/tongue in cheek. If you look at it that way reading through the lyrics, it actually is quite a twisted song that comments about identity and societal expectations.

No one was deceived, Gaga was very clear about the album having several musical genres. Since CBT premiere she’s been saying how she loves to break genres. 

It's comical to see adults who don't know how to deal with their disappointments and who don't take responsibility for their own frustrated expectations.

For anyone who only followed the singles and judged the sound of the album based that with her aesthetic, I think it’s fair that they felt duped. I personally feel a disconnect between her fashion and the sound of the album.

The reality is that not everyone is a little monster who reads and watches her interviews. I’ve been having this conversation with those who felt this way over on Reddit. But a lot of reactions are overwhelmingly positive. The Gaga sub is more critical than the Popheads sub, interestingly enough. But I wouldn’t worry too much about this “bait and switch” thing.

The comments are so harsh and rude. TikTok seriously ruined the way people consume media. The album has been out for less than 24 hours and ppl are already deeming it her worst? Being so rude that gaga feels the need to defend herself? 
 

everyone is entitled to enjoy it or not enjoy it, but saying things like the album sucks, should be called “mediocre”, it's a terrible album, etc. that is where the line is drawn between having an opinion and just being mean for no damn reason. And they have been doing the same s**t to katy perry. Im really bored of seeing everyone treat these people like they are some type of object which has no worth unless its serving you.

This is her creation, she's proud and this IS darkpop, the only song you could argue it isn't darkpop is HBDYWM. I honestly don't know what people expect from her; she's held to an impossible standard.

HBDYWM is absolutely her lightest mayhem track, but while we are all comparing it to Taylor - we're ignoring the fact the lyrics are her basically telling a dude to cheat/leave a relationship for her. And include things that make her sound like a psychotic stalker like having a tattoo of them etc lol

He said, in a nutshell, that people who are feeling like they were mislead, weren't listening to what gaga was saying. That she started describing the album as chaotic and stated several quotes gaga said about the album before release. He then went on to describe how the album matches up to what gaga described 

most of the comments are either defending their opinions, stating they were mislead, some even calling gaga deceiving. Others say, they don’t care about that, but just that the album sucks as a whole, and the songs were boring/bad.

Not a stretch at all, I was just honestly afraid of being dragged  The song def has dark elements in the lyrics, she just disguised it with pretty dressing.

I saw someone speculate the label made her swap some songs bc of DWAS and disease and I’m like…yall…no…she gave them DWAS. They honestly don’t even gaf about what’s in that album anymore tbh Gaga said she wanted to give variety. She did.
