Seringai 248
My *Mayhem* Take Buckle up, Little Monsters—Lady Gaga’s *Mayhem* isn’t the dark-pop savior you think it is, and that’s why it’s better than you deserve. She dangled “Disease” (all macabre and moody) and that brooding aesthetic like a carrot, hyping us for some *Chromatica*-level gloom—then flipped us off with “Zombieboy” (disco campfest) and “How Bad Do U Want Me” (Taylor-coded fluff with “Do you want me to be psycho?”—a savage jab at us dark-pop diehards). Gaga’s trolling us, and it’s genius: this album’s a chaotic gift, stuffed with fan lingo like “paws up” and “princess die” (hear “Perfect Celebrity”’s “watch the princess die”), proving she’s been lurking our X rants. I fell for it hook, line, and sinker, and she’s got the last laugh. It’s not serious—it’s a riot. This is comedic art, brilliantly concepted to mess with us fans, and she’s cackling behind the scenes. Grunge stans get “Disease” and “Perfect Celebrity” (raw and gritty); ballad lovers get “Die With a Smile” (that Bruno smash) and “Blade of Grass” (soft Joanne vibes); experimental weirdos get “Killah” (techno funk); pop normies get “How Bad” (generic but snarky). She’s serving every taste while punking us—titles like “Garden of Eden” and “The Beast” sound like our Tumblr fanfic gone wild, and she’s tossing in “paws up” (imagine it in “Abracadabra”’s theatrics) like she’s one of us. The genius move? She set up a dark album, then went half-disco—pure troll, subverting the “psycho” hype with glitter. It’s a middle finger to our expectations, wrapped in fan-made chaos—she knew we’d catch the joke eventually. Me? I got played hard—I was ready for dark-pop Gaga to slay my soul. “Disease” had me hooked, dreaming of haunting vibes, but then “How Bad Do U Want Me” hit with that “psycho” line, and I was like, “What is this pop nonsense?” I sulked—where’s my grunge queen?—until “Zombieboy”’s goofy disco and “The Beast”’s werewolf drama made me crack up. She trolled me good, and I’m laughing now—Gaga’s too clever, turning my pout into a giggle with this fan-fueled mess. It’s not what I wanted; it’s what I didn’t know I needed. Call it *ARTPOP Act 2*—same wild heart, funnier soul, and the album of the decade. *ARTPOP* gave us “Swine”’s mess and “Applause”’s wink; *Mayhem* remixes that with “How Bad”’s “I could go psycho, but nah” defiance and “Garden”’s over-the-top nod to her past. It’s got *The Fame*’s hooks (“LoveDrug”), *Born This Way*’s drama (“The Beast”), even *Joanne*’s heart (“Blade”), all tied up in campy, fan-owned madness. She’s a mastermind—concepting this as comedic art to troll us while hiding it in a “serious” frame, delivering a party I didn’t expect. that’s why it slays—one song’ll hook you, another’ll annoy you, and that’s the point. Thoughts—am I wild, or is this Gaga’s best peak artistry to create amazing album to troll us? Haha 1000/10 album
BLOODANDSEMEN 328
I don't think she's trying to troll or fool us. But glad you love the album too
