Reveal hidden contents ... Taylor Swift Yes, I'm referring to that song. But beyond that song it's an excellent album, you're going to enjoy it a lot! It does have an unexpected sound, much clearer, lighter, irreverent and funnier than I would have imagined. If you ask me, I would have wished for something MUCH more somber, but I'm happy anyway. The album has NOTHING to do with the visual aesthetic of the album and videos we know so far. I'm midway through the album, I was also expecting inspirations from NIN, DM, The Cure, even a bit of Tears For Fears ; I wouldn't say I'm feeling disappointed, it surely isn't what I expected, but I have to say I'm pretty content with what I've listened to so far, I know that a few of them will probably need to grow on me, others (probably the one you're referring to ) won't, but overall, so far, I'm happy of that album. I guess I was expecting something darker, but I have to say the production is really impressive, so much layers, the guitars on some tracks are incredible, some synths and bass as well. My opinion isn't really complete, as I am only at Shadow Of a Man (already not what I expected again), I guess I thought it would be more "epic", from the snippet we got, but it's pretty good nonetheless. Well, might give my opinion in a few days, when I will have digest it all.

Indeed, and I had that in mind personally, so on that manner I already knew I should've expected different directions, but I thought there would be more "dark pop"/"pure pop" influences than there is. But I'm personally glad that she felt free to explore many genres, it feels like she tapped into all of her experiences as a musician, the range is impressive and even if everything isn't the kind of sounds I love to listen to at the moment, I can recognise she worked hard and it's high quality music. She didn't disappoint on that, but I knew she'd been cooking some solid music here. And it shows!
