GAGA IS GROOVY 208 Posted 6 hours ago Share Posted 6 hours ago (edited) I just got back home from the MAYHEM listening party in Tokyo and W O W !!!!! The event was so cute, the club was filled with MAYHEM posters and everyone got a sticker for attending (and a free drink lol). Before the DJ started to play the record, a really sweet video popped up of Gaga saying how much she loves Japanese little monsters and gets so much inspiration when she visits. We actually listened to 15 songs, as the setlist included Can't Stop the High, and wooooooow MAYHEM left me speechless, SO SPEECHLESS. The record has so many different sounds and points of reference, I can totally understand why Gaga keeps talking in interviews about its chaotic nature - I heard echoes of Prince, Michael Jackson, Yazoo and Britney Spears! The album drops here in about 2 hours and I can't wait to listen to all the songs again with headphones, but it was so much fun to listen to the record for the first time in such a unique environment with lots of other fans! My favourite songs: Garden of Eden, Perfect Celebrity, Zombie Boy and Shadow of a Man. Honestly, the night has been such a blur I can't remember much, but I remember it's more synthy and it reminded me, sonically, of Disease. I'm sorry I can't remember more!
