moonsago 7,263
We have about one more day left, depending on timezones, until we finally get to hear Mayhem and I just want to say that I hope we all get to enjoy this final day of pre-release excitement because who knows when the next one will be! It’s been 5 years since Gaga’s last pop project and we don’t know what’s next ( we will be supporting regardless of what she does! ) so let’s all be positive today and have fun with all the rumors, opinions, speculations, etc one last time. I cannot believe it’s been 7 MONTHS since the Paris teasers and 9 since the Gaga Returns teaser, it all feels like yesterday. Like how did we just get here??? I can’t believe we’ve been officially anticipating this drop for almost 1 YEAR! That is CRAZY! I’ve said it a billion times on this app but I genuinely have such a good feeling about this project, I don’t think I’ve ever felt this confident that I will adore a Gaga album since becoming a little monster back in 2009. Disease and Abracadabra are literally spectacular, 2 of her best songs ever, the snippets we heard sound incredible as well, and Die With A Smile is one of her best ballads… like what does that say about this album??? I cannot wrap my mind around the fact that this album might just dethrone The Fame Monster for me or even come close to it! Anyways… I’m feeling super cheesy and emotional right now and wanted to write this. We’re so lucky to have Gaga after everything she’s been through, and even more lucky that she is so willing to still create music and gift us this incredible album that is SO obviously made just for us. I hope we get to appreciate it accordingly and return the gift by making it a major success for her! I really love this fandom, even with all it’s flaws, I’m happy that I decided to be Gaga’s fan and join it. Happy Mayhem Eve little monsters! FreedomInTheMusic 514
Back on March 28, 2020, I remember how excited my wife and I were to hear Chromatica for the first time. We cooked dinner and played Gaga the whole time, dancing in our tiny NYC apartment that we had been cooped up in for too long. Everything was so weird in the world and we had some family members who were sick at the time, and this was a perfect glimmer of hope for us at a hard moment. My wife ended up falling asleep before midnight, and I felt too guilty waking her up to listen. She hadn’t been sleeping well for days, and she needed a good night’s rest, so I quietly got out of bed, went into my bathroom and closed the door to listen for the first time through some good headphones. Let me tell you, that first listen was absolute euphoria. It was such a fun musical journey and I stayed up until 3am playing and replaying, digging into the lyrics and the sounds and just enjoying the moment. In the morning, my wife ribbed me a bit for not getting her up, but I made her pancakes and put the album on our speakers and blasted it as the day began. We laughed and danced and had maybe the first moment of relief we felt in a long while. And now here we are, almost 5 years later in a world no more comforting than it was back then, but I still have my wife and we still have our music. I can’t wait to share it with her and with all of you vicariously.

I can relate entirely to the first part, I too was never able to follow a release like this before due to varying circumstances despite being a fan since 2009. In the beginning it was mostly due to me being very young and not knowing much about stan culture and all the fun things that happen before an era or even what an ‘era’ was until around after ARTPOP. I was just a kid who loved Gaga and saw her on youtube, that’s it, and after that all kinds of stuff happened that stopped me from partaking the way I am right now. So our experiences mirror each other in that sense, I’m happy that you are here and I hope you find a way to remove yourself from the situation that you are in right now that is causing you to feel this way. I don’t know you but I know that people are extraordinary and capable of many things that seem impossible at first, and you are no exception. I believe in you & I pray that you will be alright. I’m sending you all the love!

I’m so happy that you got to have such a memorable experience with a Gaga album, she would love your story too I am sure. This is what music is meant to do, bring comfort and create a long lasting impression on our soul, and you had that right there and then. And I hope you have it again with Mayhem, this time alongside your lovely wife! Wishing both of you the best!
