I've been depressed since early November with all this politic **** so seeing some people fight back truly gives me hope. Target also announced losses following the boycott due to removing the DEI thingy, sweet music to my ears

Target has not announced any losses due to removing its DEI policy? Target reported its earnings for FY2024, which ran through Feb 1st. It removed its DEI initiative on Jan 24th. So it had one week of sales in that timeframe, and media didn't even catch onto this until a few days before the end of the FY. The "losses" you are speaking of might be the stock price decline it experienced, which is in line with the overall stock market decline (and not $15bn as some people claim). Or it could be a decrease .8% in Net Sales or adjusted EPS decline of .9%. But really, FY2023 had an extra week in it, which explains some of the decline. And gross sales are still increased (which means more items are being bought) year-over-year. The sad thing is that this really just means that Target will be pressured to respond by cutting costs in order to increase its bottom line since its top line is showing improvement. "The Company's ongoing efficiency efforts have delivered cost savings of more than $2 billion over the last two years." as ripped from it's Earnings press release. And that in retail and service really just means that labor will be cut. So congratulations, you're really sticking it to your peers by driving partial unemployment.

I can’t help but get annoyed whenever I see a Tesla now, even though they are everywhere. Would feel super conscious driving one :saladga:

I can't tell if you're being serious or not lol :messga: Ford has done more damage to this province than Trump could ever dream of.

Canadian conservatives may not be as outwardly evil as US conservatives, but their philosophy of stealing from the poor to give to the rich is exactly the same. Ford can't afford to sell this province to Trump because he's already sold it off to his rich friends.

I guess I'm grateful that he's not rolling over to Trump immediately, but like... they share the same world view at the end of the day. This "toughness" is just to distract from the mess he's made at home. The only way Ford could protect Ontario is to listen to Princess Die and take notes :messga:

I think this at least slightly dramatic. Obviously as a Conservative party they havent raised taxes on rich to pay for programs like many would have liked (and to be clear I dont outright support his party either) but to be fair its not like they went on a cutting spree either

In fact most tax rates remain very simmilar to when the Liberals were in power under Kathleene Wynn. Most the the labor code hasnt changed all that much either, in fact surprisingly within last couple years theyve made a few updates to labor code in favour of workers

As far as minimum wage goes relative to inflation its also not all that different to the Previous Government

Theres been some controversies such as wanting to open up green belt for housing (most of which got reversed)...

But to say hes done soooo much damage when most of the core policies have not really changed I think is at the very least being dramatic. At most Id say he could and should have done more, but its not like he went in and broke a bunch of stuff.

By Conservative Government standards considering they been in power for several years now, im surprised the regressive policies have been kept to a minimum. The worst I can think of was when they cut Corporate taxes by 1% which as far as tax cuts to wealthy is about the biggest and only major they did. And even that considering were struggling to compete with the US because they went ballistic on tax cuts, id argue its debatable if that was really so bad given the circumstances.

Okay but I know people (in other provinces) that depend on star link for remote areas.... I disagree with him ripping it up and putting those in his province at risk/disadvantage

If they choose internet over sovereignty,  the border is that way. I hate Ford, but applaud his moves here. Fight fire with fire, that’s why the democrats  keep losing tbh.

It’s clearly going to go to America’s ex allies to help help our economy, etc. but honestly I don’t expect any of these retaliatory moves to stick. They’ll all bow down to Trump eventually. That’s how the story always seems to go.

I guess it really depends on Canada, Mexico and China’s ability to put pressure on the right places. Kentucky bourbon, Florida Oranges, Iowa corn, Texas Teslas…

Only 49.8% of you deserve this. The rest of you must continue to resist for the good of the world.

It’s always the same people with the weird ass takes lol.

I find it hard to believe that Starlink is the only company in the world with the capability to provide internet to remote areas. Stop doing deals with demons.
