Thoughts on the Placements of Singles in Mayhem?

Now that we know the order of tracks for Mayhem, what are you thoughts on the album opening with Disease and Abracadabra? I honestly found it kind of odd that the two singles we have are tracks one and two on the album, I thought they’d be spread out a bit more. Of course we don’t have the full picture since the album isn’t out yet, but what are your thoughts on the album opening with these two songs?

I think it’s perfect to hook the GP in with songs they know and love, and to have Die With A Smile at the end waiting for them as a treat is great too. No complaints from me

Honestly it's always been pretty standard for singles/expected singled to be frontloaded on albums in the digital & streaming era - only rock acts/older acts & concept albums skipped this.

Well, I'm happy about it. Not because they will get a boost on streams as they are the first two songs on the album and singles too (that's also a good point), but because it shows how well thought out the album cycle was and how the label agreed on Gaga's vision for the singles (the exact opposite as of ARTPOP, for ex.)

Although this may be the most delulu thing I said... 

Disease, Abracadabra and DWAS are still grayed out on Spotify, so maybe they will flow with the other tracks so there are no stops/silence?

No, it's what they do for every upcoming album. Imagine Dragons' latest release last week had a single already out and it was unplayable from the album until the release

Disease and Abracadabra sound like a great start so far, can’t imagine what’s coming with the rest of Mayhem. I am gonna miss the mystery of wondering how she’s going to start an album (Marry The Night, Diamond Heart, Alice) but this is still fine. 

Hopefully Disease gets a bit more attention when the album comes out because it deserved to be more successful. People who are curious about Mayhem coming from Abracadabra and Die With A Smile will most likely start from there.
