It could've been for Harlequin as it fits that album perfectly, meanwhile Happy Mistake could've been on Mayhem too. Let's not play dumb. Morphine Prince 104,440
Such an obvious lie. The song was always a stand alone collaboration. Then Gaga and her team saw how immensely successful it was and they put it on MAYHEM. Nothing can convince me otherwise. And that's ok. We all want the album to be as successful as possible. Why lie? The music industry at the end of it all is mostly about numbers and making money. We don't have to pretend.
Skyana Rava 664
Why y'all so obsessed with convincing yourselves that DWAS wasn't and shouldn't be on the album Even if it was a choice made later, geez artists are allowed to do that ****. If they are lying maybe it's cause y'all are so hard to please? Edited February 23 by Skyana Rava 4

Vinyl lead times are much shorter than they were during the pandemic. It takes 2-3 months max to submit and get a record pressed currently. The song may not have gone number one until January, but it was clear last fall that it was going to be a success, considering it was already outperforming "Disease" by that point.

Hovering 97
I personally believe there's a possibility DWAS was actually intended for Mayhen. Bruno seems to be doing a weird business strategy in which he collabs with artists but doesn't claim the actual song no matter his involvement: DWAS is for GaGa, APT is for Rosé and Fat Juicy Wet is for Sexyy Red, even though he was involved in the creation of the three songs. This could be for money or maybe he wants to put music out but doesn't plan realising a new album soon so he'd rather the songs not to go to waste as random, solo singles? So I do believe DWAS might have been intended for the album, but it was meant to be a surprise in the sense we were going to find out the day the tracklist was revealed. What changed was the wording: this was no longer the cute surprise for both fanbases but the actual single, which I do believe it is a lie lol Edited February 23 by Hovering

Stephen 30,412
The real question is: was Happy Mistake originally meant for Mayhem? Because she literally sings about being a broken mirror. 4
