10 years ago Lady Gaga made a monumental leap from pop superstar into legendary icon status, tributing Julie Andrews and The Sound of Music at the 87th Academy Awards.

One of the most pivotal moments in Gaga’s career, changing her trajectory forever.

We always knew she had this in her, this was but the world discovering the sheer force of her talents.

There's definitely a before and after in her career because of this performance, and of course definitely positively so!

My jaw was so dropped when I watched it and I'm still in awe every time I listen to it/watch it.

Still find it crazy that the SOM tribute was more than half her career ago  and is now ‘retro Gaga’

Jeez that morning I got up at 6am to see her red carpet and she didn't perform till 9am. Anyway it didn't feel like 10 year ago and I feel old :enigma: isn't 2015 like 3 years ago?

Hit me a message and say hi !

A Very Gaga Holida

I was so frustrated cause I wanted her to debut Til It Happens To You :brat: I remember people/the media praising her vocals and I was like ”how did you NOT know after all these years??” :ladyhaha:

I remember watching it in my basement, getting shivers and rooting so hard for her to prove to everyone what we, Little Monsters, already knew at the time. The talent that she has, the dedication that she has. I was sooooo proud of her.

I remember I watched this in my seventh grade music class. I remember thinking she was such a goddess (especially after how her speaking voice sounded to me) when seeing this. She proved everyone wrong about her, and she still proves people (like Stephen Sondheim :reductive:) wrong about how talented she is. The public was very behind because she had been serving incredible vocals since 2008, but this is where people finally started to catch up.
