The continuation of Telephone became such a big thing, almost a meme, because of the spirit of the collaboration between Bey and Gaga. To continue it these many years later only makes sense with them together. It became something bigger outside the story the videos tell. If it was only for the story don't even bother revisiting. If anything, for me it can be a collaboration between them not even being related to Telephone anymore and I would be happy.
