what's Gaga's WORST Move for the last 10 years?

She rarely makes a bad career move, but I'd say the complete failure to promote Chromatica any further. Yes, there was a pandemic, but plenty of artists did remote promo and I definitely didn't think 911 was a good single choice either. I don't blame her for signing up for JFAD as it was the dream project for anyone with a brain and it wasn't her fault it turned out the way it did. But if rumours were true that she was offered Elphaba in Wicked...I've never been interested in that musical but what it would have done for her career is off the charts but she naturally thought JFAD was the safer project. *sigh*

This one's more like 11 years but... Her ARTPOP SXSW concert - I almost erased her from my memory

so to me that was her worst move

1. Not agreeing to collab with Giorgio Moroder in 2015. An appearance (and possibly even a single release) from Deja Vu would've been awesome.

2. The whole Joanne B-side thing. We know now that this was more Richy Jacksons fault, but that would've been cool.

3. Not doing remotely anything for the ten year anniversary of The Fame Monster. People always talk about ARTPOP, but at least G.U.Y. got a vinyl release. The Fame Monster had absolutely nothing.

4. Abandoning Chromatica multiple times. I understand the tour got pushed back twice because of COVID, but other things got sidelined (like the tribes theme [mostly]) that shouldn't have been.

5. Even just a release of Brooklyn Nights for the ARTPOP ten year anniversary would've been cool.

5a. This spans multiple years, but not doing anything retrospectively to combat the prejudice ARTPOP and her career faced. Madonna campaigned for decades over the prejudice that affected Erotica negatively. Lady Gaga faced blatant homophobia, industry and capitalist use and abuse, and she became the symbol since ~2012 of hating everything that tried to be different. (Victorious finale and Let It Shine for example.)

6. It might've been better to push the Mayhem eras start date to 2025. Yes, Disease was great for Halloween. However, if they didn't want to heavily promote it in anyway then they should've waited. Of course, hindsight is 2020, and we don't know how Disease at the Grammys would've been received as opposed to Abracadabra. DWAS probably would not have been on Mayhem depending on the album success.

I have to disagree with Joker FAD. In theory it was a great idea. She could've had an absolutely iconic character. She was still praised for her role and it will help her gain new roles in the future

But the main reason we need to give Joker FAD some credit is because without diving into the Harley character she wouldn't have found her love for the art of darkness again and I promise you we would not be enjoying the Mayhem we have today. That whole entire Joker era when she was living and breathing Harley Quinn is hugely responsible for the era we have right now

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Some of you have some really hot takes :air:

But we all know we can't go past R Kelly. That move was bad for her career (the cancelled video/single etc), bad for her reputation, it sits there like a ticking time bomb waiting to rise up at any point and explode in her face. Honestly every time I see him in the news I set here anxious and hoping that her having him grind all over her in live performances and her support for him doesn't go viral

ALSO.. I honestly think her avoidance of the ARTPOP era is probably because of specifically him. You have to realise she didn't just perform with him a couple times. She spent time in the studio with him, hung out with him, had drinks with him, conversations. They spent a lot of time together hanging out like friends and all that time he was doing (and had done) the most disgusting things ever. For a survivor of sexual abuse who was also performing Swine at the time about her own experiences I'm sure that ****ed with her mind a lot. I'm sure she developed trauma around the whole experience. Spending time with the most heinous sexual abuser and defending him while trying to deal with her own sexual trauma

Edit: oh and the same story with Terry Richardson. Letting him photograph her nude thinking it's just her friend taking artistic photos only to learn he's a legit sexual predator and he has all those photos on a hard drive somewhere

From a commercial point of view, not pushing more ASIB singles and not touring it. She could absolutely sell out a limited stadium tour, with maybe even a higher gross than CBT. If the soundtrack was given a full push, it would probably end up diamond in the US alone in the long run (which is crazy), ntm ARUTW potentially becoming her signature song.

From an artistic point of view... working with Bloodpop. I am sorry, I love some of the songs he'd produced but I refuse to believe a man as talented as Mark Ronson could deliver only Joanne working with Gaga. I like Joanne but it's a 7/10 at best, whereas their work on ASIB is at another level. I feel like interscope brought him in to make the album more "poppy" and he watered down the production. Same applies to Chromatica as well. Even HMH's production sucks big time compared to how amazing it sounded on the Superbowl few days ago.

I don't think Joker was a mistake. She swung big and it was obvious it would be either hit or miss. It's just upsetting that she gave her all only to fade in the background of Todd's masterful plan of trolling the audience that pushed his movie to a 1B+ box office. He thought he really did something by putting out that boring film, despite Gaga's brilliant performance. I don't think Gaga regrets it, but I'd die to see her being the sole lead on her next project (and not the love interest of a dying man for a change), or in an ensemble with other women. Preferably by a female director too. I feel like her directors were too threatened by her stealing and chewing every scene she's in and consciously or subconsciously try to keep her reach in check (even Bradley in retrospect... all those comments on his first picks being Beyoncé and Adele for the female lead for ASIB were... unnecessary). On all 3 films she was in the quality dipped as the storyline moved its focus away from her character (and my non-stan friends who'd seen the movies with me agree on that one, still it's quite subjective but that's what I think tbh).

Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something?
