Taylor Swift has been confirmed by IFPI, the organisation that represents the recorded music industry worldwide, as the Global Recording Artist of the Year 2024.

This is the 5th time that Taylor Swift has won the award – and the third consecutive year. In a record-breaking year across the board for the pop superstar, 2024 has also seen her scoop up four other major IFPI awards. This includes the Global Album Chart, Global Vinyl Album Chart, Global Streaming Album Chart and Global Album Sales Chart thanks to the huge success of her eleventh studio album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT, which was released in April 2024.

Tbf all Beyoncé released was CC, which while successful wasn't a major long term hit with fans or casuals. Plus she basically went silent after it dropped.

Lana sells less in opening weeks but generally has more longevity and stability with each project.
