I think you're thinking of fat camps not fat farms. Fat farms are the "deragatory" word for fat camps. But they're used interchangeably. Either way, this seems like a threat to violate HIPAA in order to target people for residential programs for forced labor under the guise of intermediary programs for people's health. 

 

It doesn't really matter if we're painting one out to be questionable practices and another as a place to be exterminated because he's still hinting at forcing grown adults into doing something against their will. This man shouldn't even be speaking on this **** in any way, but to call these people addicts is insane and stigmatizing. A good part of the reason violent crime has decreased since the 90s is because of the availability of mental health medications and the opened conversation regarding mental health. I'm going to be very honest and open with you when I tell you that I have been on anti-depressants and they made my life hell simply because of the prescribers. I was hastily prescribed things that I shouldn't have been because medical professionals and my school saw me as a suicide risk. And I lost parts of myself 6 years ago that I still have not gotten back because that medication fvcked me up. I have also seen people take it and it saved their lives because their prescribers knew what they were doing and did so carefully. I was yanked off medications almost weekly and fvcked over w it. The issue wasn't the medication it was the prescriber and the fact that I was just immediately taken off them. I had an allergic reaction to one and  went through withdrawals. I did see the medical necessity in that case but it was a terrifying experience nonetheless. And we're talking about doing that to millions of people. When the solution isn't taking the medication away, it's regulating how it's prescribed. It's evaluating regulations for how it's tested. It's evaluating the cost for medications. It's evaluating how big pharma has its hands in our government. Taking away medication I was given wasn't solving the issue. Had DNA testing for compatibility been affordable and accessible, I could have been matched with medications better and interactions more understood. We need to change our standard of practice and increase accessibility. Not take it away. The answer is MOST DEFINITELY NOT stigmatizing if and calling these people addicts. Or stigmatizing addicts in any form. Using sales tax to fund mental health is great. But not this.

Well first off I’m really sorry for your experience and that you misread what I said where you felt like you needed to dredge it all up again. What I was getting at was not agreeing with his stance at ALL. I said specificity matters. they’re *uniquely* bad things and when we’re in a political environment of people saying every single thing flying is a Nazi action I think we need to be more mindful of how we use words and terms so when we talk about this we mean EXACTLY what we say bc it’s so easy for “camp” to get skewed in this climate. Those places ARE **** and they’re **** all on their own without being confused for a Nazi death camp, is my point. I’m so sorry for your experience there
