Gaga Sings D*ck In A Box…..and Shallow

I already commented on "Dïck in a Box," but to repeat, it was fun, unexpected, paid tribute to the show, and was a subversive act revisiting previous accusations of Gaga having a penis in light of the anti-trans legislation coming out of Washington. It shows both her sense of humor and also her support for trans people.

As for all the "Shallow" hate –– I don't have Peacock, so I haven't watched the full show yet, but my understanding is that most acts were performing hits, not new material. "Disease" and "Abracadabra" aren't hits with the GP yet––they're doing great, but they're still new. DWAS would've fit the occasion, but I'm guessing Bruno wasn't available. "Shallow" is well-loved and was something she could easily perform at the piano. This wasn't even on NBC, it's thus far only on a streaming service that a lot of people don't even have, so it wouldn't have been a prime advertising opportunity anyway. I also imagine she consulted with Mark and the Roots about what would best fit the occasion.

She's rumored to have a spot (at least as musical guest) on SNL this spring, so we'll get our Mayhem performances then if it's true.

She's gotten more love than a lot of contemporary celebs in the SNL50 docs. Both for hosting and as a musical guest. Last night she had a prominent spot and she's rumoured to be in a sketch on Sunday's live show.

It's obvious she's loved by the SNL producers*. SNL proper returns on March 1st. None of the hosts/music acts have been announced for the rest of the season. Safe bet she'll be appearing in early March. In time for Mayhem's actual release, since Coachella and Rio rules out a lot of dates.

*Just started watching the full show. Fallon's doing the introductory monologue and the first name out of all the acts appearing: Lady Gaga.

I know I'm a bit OT but I'm watching those cute fan interactions on twitter and I'm sooo jealous of fans who live in these cities and can camp out and have a chance of meeting her

A good thing we can highlight from these Piano Ball Tour performances is that at least she has been focusing on the Mayhem aesthetic, showing commitment to the album's era. :ohwell:

Come on Haus of Gaga, I want to understand why ya'll booked this spot for real. Other artists performed their songs (old songs at that), but Gaga, with a brand new single doesn't?? Like no hate for real, but please someone explain what we are doing here.

My only theory is that she’s actually booked for normal SNL in a couple weeks and we just don’t know it yet, and she’s saving Abra and Disease for that.

You'll get your pop songs at Coachella and Rio. You’re ruining the mood, deadass. Her biggest ennemies really are her own fans omg :excuseu:

I wonder why Lady Gaga doesn't interact with fans on social media as much anymore.

Probably for mental health reasons.

Social media drives me crazy and I don't even have the kind of pressure she would have I can't imagine how draining it must be
