poeticprose 310
Why did she sang Shallow? Who died now? God its getting tiring. You have a hit single to promote, woman. 2
Mr Oak 7,281
Wasn't there a thread about her having a contract that didn't allow her to perform new songs? Maybe that's it Was it for Vegas? Am i going delulu?

Everyone is just hangry for an immaculate pop preformance that only she can do, not these piano sets she's been doing constantly for 9 years on live tv shows. 1

Nite 5,157
Oh that Shallow performance was gorgeous though and she looked so happy singing it. I had different expectations too but I'm just going to assume she has other TV performance plans for MAYHEM songs. 2

Most people on this forum fell in love with her in the 1st place because of her pop songs and the incredible performances that came with them, that's how she truly gave life to her songs. I'm pretty sure she has every right to perform whichever song she wants. Plus, it was a tribute show on a random streaming platform, calm down. You'll get your pop songs at Coachella and Rio. You’re ruining the mood, deadass. Her biggest ennemies really are her own fans omg "Faites-moi des grimaces dans le dos tant que vous voudrez; mon cul vous contemple." - Gustave Flaubert 2 1 1

I understand the desire for more pop performances, but I don't think this was the right setting for one. Why would she invest time and money, hire dancers, etc., for such an intimate show? The amount of hate she received online is on par with what actual haters would say, that's ridiculous. Mr S 8,453
I don't really expect her to do full proper Abra performance, but she really didn't need to perform here. It kind of seems beneath her tbh. Like maybe a 3 way performance with JT since its a fairly iconic skit for nostalgic purposes.
NewYorkGirl 1,371
She’s literally letting loose and having fun this era and you guys are complaining about it? Color me shocked. Some of you really are little monsters. Not everything has to be so serious and not everything is about a hit new song. Jfc. Hot Ones is below her and a FUNNY SNL performance is below her? Get over yourselves. Edited Saturday at 03:59 PM by NewYorkGirl My. Lawyer. Liked. That. 5 1
hamartia 175
I think her willingness to do something silly reflects better on her than just using this as an album promo spot tbh Also love love love when she uses that more soulful (?) tone in her voice. Siena 6,075
The entire audience was just SNL cast members and other guests, and this wasn’t even televised or super advertised so it would’ve been odd to debut her disease / abra performance here. The Iheart radio music awards are March 17th and she’s getting an award, so it makes wayyyy more sense for her to debut a sickening performance there…not a random SNL anniversary concert. Plus this is still great promo. Look at the comments on YouTube, everyone is loving this performance. Realistically any large pop performance wouldn’t have fit into this event and I don’t think the reach it had would be big enough anyways based on the audience.
