I was already excited about new Madonna music and then I found out she was working with Stuart Price and didn't want to set high expectations. Now that she's calling it Confessions 2 it's on her lol. Still don't want to get too excited because she went from Ray of Light to MDNA with Orbit but we'll see what happens. I love that she's very excited about making new music so this is good too.

The GP is gonna eat this no matter what. It's Madonna. Their queen of pop.

I'll give it a listen since Confessions 1 was good and my last favorite album of hers. She should have released last year tbh.

I think the difference is in the creative process.

Ray of Light was based heavily on her new found spiritual beliefs and her experience as a new mum. So Orbit essentially got given a script and built from there. Which is then the same for MDNA when she both needed a new album for label purposes & had the divorce to process.

From what I remember of Confessions, the concept of the album as a continuous DJ mix and the sound was something brought to Madonna by Stuart Price. So it had way more freedom to it in a sense.

Plus Stuart Price's involvement in the Celebration tour musical direction is proof he still brings out the best in Madonna.

Im excited, but I feel like she didn’t really need to name it Confessions Part 2. If the music is good enough you don’t really need to repeat an album title/era and set up unnecessary comparisons. IMO, MDNA is already her Confessions Part 2 because even though it wasn’t great it was going after the same club music vibe from start to finish.

Ed Sheeran woukd be an excellent collabrator. His lyrics really speak to her.

For example ‘when your legs don’t work like they used to before.’ :flop:

that's a high bar to set considering her recent work.

Imo Rebel Heart is a strong album and Madame X was very ambitious, those 2 albums weren't bad

There's some great demos from the Rebel Heart era. Its a real shame she reworked alot of the Avicii input.
