The record was for the most-watched telecast by average viewership(the entire super bowl and not just the halftime show). Super Bowl with Rihanna broke Katy's record, then Usher broke Rihanna's record, Kendrick broke Usher's record from last year...

Surprising because the buzz around his performance was mid not mention the mixed reviews following it. its fishy the way the industry is pushing Kendrick off recent. also thought it was interesting how they he got both record and song of the year for the same song considering the other nominees. did he even win any Grammys for anything else but not like us ?
