The Fame is the one exception but even its cover is not super colorful. But TFM, BTW and even ASIB are probably her most successful/iconic eras and all have B/W covers as opposed to the relative muted reception to the eras of ARTPOP, Joanne, and Chromatica which all had colorful covers. I mean arguably Mayhem’s release is coming in the midst of potentially the darkest chapter ever for the US as civil rights and democracy are being thrown out the window which is quite tragic too.
