abracadabra INDEED was a save and major comeback to the mainstream for her pop solo pop music.

i can assure the public does not care about her having a solo hit in the last 10 years lmao like genuinely i think you're reachiing a lot to think "the gp is very aware of that". At best, it's refreshing she's back with something new since her sound was missed. Mama was not in some existential crisis especially bc while a collab RoM was still a decent hit. This era was more needed, as an era like this will always be, to remind people of her roots every few years like Chromatica did, too. Sure the song's success is great, but let's not pretend like the public was sitting around like stans saying "oh gosh she hasn't been a solo dance pop hitmaker in 10 years!"

And tbh this could have been another song, too, and still had the same success. Abracadabra is a solid hit, but it's the grammys ad that really made it pop into people's attention not just the song itself. if anything, it proves she's been fine but needed more strategic marketing to get it in people's faces

The public is very aware that Gaga’s latest #1 hits are not solo songs. And even during her Super Bowl people were talking about how it was such a throwback cause it was all 2008-2011 songs. 

the public knows. I see it mentioned anytime there is a Gaga post on social media by a pop news or Hollywood news or celebrity news account. They know and they love to mention it.

They are fully aware and they are talking about it whenever she’s mentioned

why do you think this article exists? Have you not seen the online discourse over this song outside of the Gaga fandom? Have you not seen any reaction videos on YouTube ? 
everyone is talking about how Gaga is BACK , because yes- she has not had anything like abracadabra happen in over 10 years- and this is a solo pop mega hit from her.

The public really doesn't care. Only people on Twitter and forums care about how many solo hits she's had. My husband, coworkers and friends who don't listen to Gaga have zero idea about her hits. None of it matters.

sure they don’t care about Gaga and her hits but it doesn’t make it untrue and when you ask the general public to name a lady Gaga song, they will not be naming a recent solo pop song. They’ll be naming something from 2008-2013 or shallow or DWAS . Even rain on me is unlikely to be mentioned

She sells stadiums of course - that does not make it untrue that she hasn’t had a solo pop hit in over 10 years and that is what the article is discussing. And many many people feel this is a comeback to pop for Gaga, because chromatica clearly wasn’t otherwise they’d have been having this discussion back then in 2020. Only hit from chromatica was a duet with Ariana granda. The article is talking about Gaga as a solo pop artist . This article wouldn’t exist if people in the public were not gagged by Abracadabra  and talking about the fact that they feel like Gaga is back.  Even we can agree abracadabra is something we’ve not seen from Gaga in over 10 years.  The music she was releasing has not made as big a splash as this.

We can’t be oblivious to the fact that Gaga’s solo pop music after Applause was not doing well with the mainstream till abracadabra.

the only hits she had after applause were million reasons (maybe?) shallow, rain on me, and die with a smile.

its okay for us to state the obvious.  Abracadabra indeed is a save. Otherwise she would’ve just kept releasing music that us fans cared about, but we’re non events to the public.

GUY was a non event, perfect illusion non event, stupid love non event, disease non event , etc. I’m sorry but to many people it seemed Gaga was not able to match her success of 2008-2012 when it came to her POP MUSIC CAREER.

doesnt meant she wasn’t still successful throughout all those years and wasn’t able to sell tickets to a show.

the article exists because it is true she's not matched her 2008-2012 solo pop music career success and its no secret to literally anybody.  I'm not saying this is all bubbles and rainbows, but it is the rather unfortunate reality. its a harsh business, entrainment media, and they dont just make sht up for no reason.

my point is we shouldn't be very surprised/offended to see these kinds of articles and comments- because they are literally everywhere, and there's no lies. for everybody outside of the Gaga fandom, this is indeed a comeback and a major WIN that we have not seen since 2013. idek if GP considers "Applause" a big or rememberable song, especially given its absence at her Super Bowl performance.

Gaga even said it recently herself that she'd heard people feel she has gotten "old and boring" because we've not seen her like THIS since 2013.
