metalguru 1,107
https://rateyourmusic.com/release/single/lady-gaga/abracadabra/ You might say, Who cares?, but RYM is a solid predictor of emerging trends, and its year-end list often foreshadows those of major critics. Every year, these music geeks elevate a mainstream album to cult status, marking both its cultural impact and critical acclaim. Last year, it was Brat; this year, it looks like Mayhem’s turn. Disease already received glowing reviews, but Abracadabra takes things further, winning over serious collectors, geeks, metal lovers etc. and beyond. I am shocked. Normally, these people like to copy paste one star to Gaga in frenzy. It is almost they finally passed the psychological barrier of loving Gaga. I feel like Mayhem will be remembered as Fever or Ray of Light -much missed, sophisticated return to form with a promise of an artistic rebirth. The narrative is shaping up that way rather quickly. Well, also, go support your Queen on RYM, AOTY kind of websites! 1 6
Chesescake 3,789
I'm pretty sure it's because the website has been starting to have more audiences of pop music for years. I know some of her singles scores have been rising slowly. That's been said, 3.8+ is really beyond my expectation. It's even had 4.0+ initially. Yes but Beyoncé, FKA.. you name it… all these girls had been getting good support except Gaga. It’s more about collective readiness to embrace her music.
