Wtf she is in a conervatorship???

I thought she was sick??

She has frontotemporal dementia and aphasia. Conservatorships are made for people with her types of illnesses 'cause she's literally got brain damage. Her cognitive abilities and language skills will continue to decline for the rest of her life :/

It's not the same situation as Britney at all, and she should be kept away from the media for her own sake. It's actually gross that TMZ is doing this 'cause she's not well and not a great representation of who she really is/was.

Though I hope whoever is managing her finances and legal decisions is doing so with her best interest in mind. She's likely past the point of being able to fend for herself, sadly.

So if your family member gets dementia, the government should take them away from you forever to protect them? She Tony Bennett be put in a conservatorship and forced to live isolated away from family? Millions of people have dementia and live peacefully with family

Also, keep in mind, Britney was put under a conservatorship because her father wrote the judge that she has dementia

The government? :laughga:

In a proper conservatorship the ill person is placed in the care of their next of kin or someone who can act as a legal proxy to make their decisions for them.

If that's not what's happened to Wendy then it needs to be fixed.

Wendys bank requested to have full legal rights over her, and the judge granted the bank the conservatorship. They claim her son was taking money while Wendy was not in her right mind.

Worst case scenario is they should take control of Wendys money to protect her financially from her family, but allow her to live normally. Wendy doesnt even mind being in a conservatorship, all she wants is to live in Miami with her family and dying father, and they refuse to allow that! She cant even leave her room or have a phone, or get visitors

Whether she really has dementia or not (could be debatable since the dementia diagnonis along with others have been used in cases where someone wants to damage the "patient") she should still be allowed the type of care she chooses and she should be allowed to see and be with her family period. Even severely ill people deserve proper care and family. It's also ridiculous that the bank issued a conservatorship, afaik even her nephew wants her out but for some reason they're keeping her there.

I recommend everyone watch this recent interview:

For the most part she does seem cognitive (although we don't know how she is when she's having a "bad" day)

Her family is able to visit but they seem to be purposefully kept out of the loop about everything else by her legal custodian (they allege the guardian may have had ties to the judge who signed off on the conservatorship)

They also allege the legal custodian retaliates against Wendy when she makes too much noise in the media (Wendy believes her cats were given away and her visit to see her  dad on his bday was canceled because of this)

I believe a judge recently allowed her to visit her dad but I don't think that would've happened if she didnt make a fuss about it in the public

Yeah, then this isn't a proper conservatorship

I understand she has an illness. It seems like the judge took away her freedom of speech. :saladga: Of course, her support system should be protecting her from predatory "journalism" like TMZ. But making it so she's not allowed to speak to media at all is a bit strange.

Also, why not share Wendys medical record with Wendy herself, or her family? Wendy and her family dont know if she actually has dementia or not. Shes literally not treated as a human being.

And they are suing people under Wendys name, and Wendy said she doesnt want to sue these people.
