PunkTheFunk 125,733
This is scary. Yesterday it was LGBTQI+. Today, it's LGB. Tomorrow, it could be nothing.

NickiMinajStan 6,894
This is so juvenile . I'm sorry, but I can't with the right's standards, the bar is so low . Shouldn't they be worried about inflation, taxes, etc? . They do this so that their voters can feel like "they're owning the libs", but babes, this is cosmetic, nothing changes . Trans people are still gonna be there, and your quality of life, is not improved by this. You're still working class, with or without trans people, they shouldn't be your concern . I swear NOTHING is easier than being a right wing politician/grifter, this is so dumb, lol. HEART OF EVER-FROST

Why is it a bad thing if they are distinguished and treated separately? I can understand that they are interconnected in some ways but the two groups have very separate struggles and experiences today despite being under one single umbrella term. For example, a lesbian travelling to Egypt will need to take different safety measures when compared to a transman. Some gay people might not relate to the issues of trans people and vice versa… that doesn’t mean the two groups can’t support one another though. trolly troll troll

But people (ahem str8 people) are too simple to differentiate the two . This is why removing the TQI+ today could mean removing the LGB tomorrow. Sexually queer and gender queer can't allow themselves to be divided. Trans drag queens fought for our rights decades ago, we have to continue sticking together to protect trans and gay youth and maybe leave them with a shred of hope that this bullsh*t we're all living through right now won't be forever. Besides, gender and sexuality go hand in hand and most people who want to draw a line between the LGB and the TQ+ are bigots themselves. lastpopicon 37,310
I have no words... This is despicable and there's no reason to do this other than hate and bigotry, this saddens me so much, for all its faults, the USA used to be a place to look up too for progress. My only hope at this point is that trump will be just a dark footnote in America history and that Americans will be able to heal from this presidency. This is why bigots do it in the first place - their goal is and has always been eradication of queer PEOPLE - not just of homosexuality. They will pretend it is, but they understand full well that eradicating homosexuality means queer people must die, and among their circles you always see them cheer that on. 2) 'I' stands for intersex which is not a gender identity, so no, the rest of the letters are not about gender identity. For that matter, 'Q' stands for queer/questioning - neither of those terms describe a gender identity 3) Gay people and trans people are united because they are people who are struggling with the same type of oppression. They aren't united because somebody down the line overlooked that the word gay and trans describe different things in the dictionary. There is no purpose to make that separation other than divide and conquer which is what bigots are trying to do with this. Strength in numbers - if you're gay and don't see an issue with trans people being cast out, you're not only severely lacking in empathy, but you're doing yourself and your community a disservice by weakening it politically. It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!
