But ppl have a point about Gaga especially struggling. When we look at pure solo album singles that arent collabs or have movie success to assist, her last major hit was literally Applause which is already going back 11 years

But what about "Always Remember Godga This Way: :bradley:

I am shocked with it being "Friday" in various countries,, nothing is out yet about this album.

Cool, I didn't have to say it :vegas:

It's not even an attack lmao. Charts are stupid. Especially for us who follow an artist that hasn't had a true solo hit in a decade.

Just listen to the music.

Ill enjoy the music regardless. I mean Disease is the best thing Ive heard in years from anyone :bradley:

But when discussing charts, I find it funny how delulu some can get. We have literal proof that in 11-12 years since Applause if you exclude collabs or songs assisted by a hit movie...

Your literally left with 2 top 10 hits. One that instantly fell off top 10 after 3 weeks of debut and had no longevity (Stupid Love)... and one that required endless promo, and then itunes discount during superbowl week to make it go top 10 just 1 week (MR) :rip:

I like to see her slay. But if she doesnt its cool just the same.

But i just find it funny how many delulu fans never left 2010 and refuse to accept shes not the commercial force in Mainstream with GP anymore they think she is. Especially with singles. And they have a meltdown everytime they think something is gonna slay the charts, and then more often than not, doesnt :rip:

You know this is the first time in ages where I'm not actually that excited for a new Weeknd album. I'm sure it'll be amazing, and I adore After Hours and Dawn FM, but I think I've kinda been over saturated with him the past few years and gotten a bit tired of his style; plus I didn't rly feel the first two songs off this album. Also I'm in full MAYHEM mode atm so other music I'd usually be excited about is taking a back seat.

I'm kinda hoping this album offers more than what's on the previous two albums, and isn't just more of the same hyper-polished 80's infused synthwave etc.

Same. I love his music and he’s one of the best male artists we have today but at the same time I feel like I don’t miss having new music from him lol. He was just everywhere and the singles have been massive for years that it doesn’t feel like he took a break.

I’m going to listen to the album tomorrow though. It just doesn’t feel a big event like when Starboy and After Hours came out. I barely remember the 3 singles. I also haven’t listened to Dawn FM in years. Love him but it’s been same-ish for years.

I was discussing it in private earlier but I kinda prefer when she flops :laughga: the fanbase is much more tolerable.

People take the piss out of Katy here for flopping but you know what? Ten years ago she was out chartting and out selling Gaga in spades. Even matched one of MJ's records and she'll likely be the last person to ever do so. Now, she's just making the music she wants and vibing. I respect tf out of that.

Meanwhile, Gaga's changing her album to include what used to be a standalone single just 'cause it's a hit and putting out multiple "ExClUsIvE" variants of the album to drive sales despite giving a deep reason why the standard album art was chosen. It should be more than just a pretty picture and it's disappointing that I'm in a very, very small minority of people that's put off by the multiple covers thing :saladga:

But worse than all of that, most conversations on this site now are about how much she's selling, who's a threat on the charts, how long DWAS can carry her, blah blah blah.

It's all literally so irrelevant.

I miss when ARTPOP bombed and the site was full of enthusiastic fans sharing their deranged theories about the music. Or when TIHTY failed to win an Oscar but we were all still touched by her story. Or when Joanne was struggling pre-HTS, PI couldn't stay afloat, but we were all here just talking about how much we appreciate her and what we were taking from what ended up being my favorite album.

She released one of her most haunting and beautiful songs, Happy Mistake, and it's like most fans won't touch it 'cause it's associated with a flop film.

With Mayhem potentially having some of the most introspective and interesting themes of her career it really makes me sad to know that a) a lot of the conversation will be overshadowed by any amount of commercial success she has and b) if anything fails to take off on the charts, she'll ditch it (like Harlequin and Disease).

This ain't the place for this dairy entry so sorry for that but still :icant: I'm hoping there's at least a good dozen of us that can get together in March and talk about literally anything other than chart performance.

🧡The blindfold's off my eyes, all I see for me is better days🧡

Yeah i kond of agree on the variants. Theres too many. Although as long as she doesnt pull a Taylor Swift and release more variants after the fact and make fans feel they miss out and have to buy it that would be worse.

At least if these variants are all that will be, at least u can pick and choose your fav (and if u buy multiple its your choice but you know from the beggining whats available). If she releases more later then ill have no choice but to put her in same category as TS :triggered:

About Katy Perry, I still love her and I love 143 despite the hate. I sometimes poke fun at her flopping but deep inside i am in fact a stan :bradley:

About happy mistake, that performance on Jimmy Kimmel alone was literally worth the entire era. I feel those vocals will be her magnum opus that shell never surpass

Nevertheless, all that said above, I still want her to slay on charts :ladyhaha:. But I dont think ppl like me are the problem. I still enjoy the music regardless
