some of y'all seem to not understand how disturbing and reckless is for a mainstream artist to be openly promoting drug use.

as if Charli is the first to do it, lmao

like have you even listened to the album?? it's not like she portrays partying in a positive light. she is in no way forcing you to do it.

as someone said a few posts up - if it's not for you, it's not for you. why condemn others who enjoy partying?

i struggle with sobriety too but i don't get how this is offensive? is it offensive if a song mentions drinking? smoking? idg the difference

is it offensive when a movie or tv show represents drug use?

sorry but the world cannot bend and censor itself just for you

why should charli censor her art just because you are becoming sober? the record is about party culture and this genius marketing

i hate to be blunt because addiction is not an easy road to recover from but to make it all about you is dumb

should gaga remove MJH from ARTPOP for you too?

Some of y'all simply have to chill out. I didn't see any pearl clutching when brat came out and the lyrics mentioned coke. A large number of mainstream artists have sang about drugs. Gaga included. Charli isn't telling anyone to do drugs. She isn't selling drugs. If this isn't for you then it isn't for you, but the moral outrage is a bit much.

Ok, so people here who struggle with adiction are not allowed to express how this make them feel without being dissmissed and told to chill out and politely shut up. Its not about individuals, is about about everyone and what this represents.

There is a difference between singing about your experiences with drug use and addition in your songs and then putting white powder inside vinyl variants as if it was a quirky souvenir for fans lmao. Expressing this is not "trying to censor her art" there is nothing artistic in this, you claim this and yet also praise it as "genious marketing" and that is exactly what this is, a marketing stunt pump up more sales, nothing more, and not genius, just cynical and insensitive, maybe you praise it becase you are as cynical and insensitive about drug use and ppl who struggle with addiction as she is..

Not gaga fans finding this controversial when she literally got someone to drink a load of paint and purge it on her by making herself throw up :ladyhaha:

I couldn't have put better myself, thank you. I have listened to her album and not only how she makes it seem like drug use is something so light and careless, but also how she literally sold a necklace with a tiny spoon as merch..

if this is not promoting drug use, I think some people will only take it seriously if she puts a coke stand and sells it herself. like, grow the f up, you're over 30 and you're acting like a teen who just watched skins for the first time, but you're an adult and there are underage people who listen to your music and might actually think that drugs are not a serious issue.

ode

does anyone know (or know how to find out) how many copies are gonna be made of this? like what's the pressing?

the conversion rate would make this super expensive, but i feel like it's worth it if it ends up being a limited run pressing with few copies && eventually has a very high value for record collectors bc it's so rare.

Because when you get past 30 you should act a certain way.

Idk maybe I’ll get canceled for this but I kinda don’t love this, am I the only one who gets kinda icky vibes?

Zero judgement to anyone whatsoever but I also feel like it shouldn’t be glorified in this way idk, mixed feeling ig

The idea of having the powder in the vinyl functionally is cool af tho

Damn, I didn't realise using things for aesthetics necessarily meant promoting them - I CANNOT BELIEVE Gaga promoted murder... MULTIPLE TIMES  :cryga:

Btw, I like how it's the two people who think they have the moral ground here who resorted to insults and name-calling :enigma:

but that's exactly what this is, just a quirky souvenir FOR the fans, not for YOU so just MOVE ON

i don't even like charli xcx or taking drugs but i can appreciate the humour and intention behind this, it successfully represents what brat is all about and it is genius marketing to help boost sales

@mightyriverz i was sympathetic towards your addiction and recovery (because honestly, the media is full of drug use, abuse and all kinds of triggering things and the only real way around that is to protect yourself) but it's clear from these new comments you just hate charli. this was never about you, you clearly just have a personal vendetta against her as seen from calling her a scumbag and a junkie

she's free to create whatever music she wants, she's not going to suddenly create taylor swift ass "spelling is fun!" nursey rhymes because a younger audience has attached themselves. parental guidance is advised for a REASON.

"you're over 30 and you're acting like a teen who just watched skins for the first time" and you're on a forum complaining about a vinyl record at your big age...

mother, what must i do?
