The LA Times review is pretty good, I remember them usually being negative about her, like the NYT. Speaking of which, I hate the NYT review because I hate the backhanded compliment thing music reviewers like to do with her, like they won't let themselves fully enjoy anything she makes. I also find it weird that their point seems to be less talent = current, when that type of breathy, Taylor-imitating-Lana "casual" pop they describe as current is the epitome of the 2010s to me. Also, I find it weird how all reviews seem to ignore Dua and Doja's existence and act like Chromatica existed in a void of non-dance pop, or that having a big voice on a pop song with hooks means the songs are dated? Such bs, and vaguely ageist tbh.

NYT always have such caustic, back-handed reviews. Mercifully though it's been taken as an 8/10 so a good score at least, even with the digs!

84 seems low after all those good reviews. I am not good w math though lol

It is her most fleshed out, crafted, direct work to date. I am so glad Harlequin exists. And am glad I was right thinking the production of the Harlequin being blueprint for LG7.

Shall I start a new thread to organize us to write our reviews on Rate Your Music & Album of the Year? User ratings are effected by all the fandom wars and it is up to us to balance it out!
