b1234567 1
Pitchfork put it on their list of 8 albums you should listen to now: https://pitchfork.com/news/8-new-albums-you-should-listen-to-now-lady-gaga/ Lady Gaga teased LG7 for so long that, when “Disease” arrived with news of the album release, it could easily have been underwhelming. But that would not be the Lady Gaga way. Instead came a juggernaut so abundant in hooks, harmonic pivots, and gleefully indulgent production flourishes that it sounds like the result of a sinister plan to option every unclaimed hit on the marketplace and Frankenstein it into one maximalist pop symphony. Mayhem also features the EDM/Eurodisco hybrid “Abracadabra,” along with—why not?—her rock’n’soul ballad with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile.” Anything goes, in other words, as Gaga finds herself “returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved,” as she put it in press materials.

There is always going to be some bias one way or another in criticism of art, that's what makes criticism valuable. Criticism wouldn't mean anything if critics took a neutral stance on everything. Except that Slant has continuously rated her albums lower than other websites, and they are known in the gaming community to constantly give bad ratings to critically acclaimed games so they get more page views. Good to know but a lot of these reviews write glowing reviews full of praise then give it 75 or 80. Or maybe that's a metacritic problem. Because that variety review sounds like a 90+ lol

metalguru 1,248
https://thequietus.com/quietus-reviews/lady-gaga-mayhem-review/ I love Quietus and am surprised they failed at recognizing the influence of British Pop on the album (Depeche Mode, the Cure, ABC). Good review nonetheless! Very, very positive.
