Wow this is so cool I love this channel can't believe I missed this ty. This is definitely gonna be good her takes are always insightful and nuanced but I don't about her moving into covering modern topics and starlets tho she's like youtube's movie history channel to me  Will definitely watch later

Just finished watching! Amazing video essay.

It’s a great look at the early part of Gaga’s career before walking you through her acting projects. It’s as well researched and put together as all BKR videos and it’s amazing to have one on Gaga! Glad that lots of movie fans who watch this channel will get an insight into Gaga’s wider career and also be reminded of her talents as an actress.

Also, very pleasantly surprised to learn BKR is a little monster! Though she doesn’t let that get in the way of delivering a balanced and nuanced dive into Gaga’s work.

It’s made me super excited for Gaga’s next film projects and I 100% agree with her wishes for Gaga’s future. Enough with acting opposite a male lead in various iterations of a power struggle - time to see Gaga explore a new kind of story, lead a movie on her own and also do something with an ensemble of women.

I’ve loved all of Gaga’s acting performances but my biggest peeve about her films is that I don’t particularly want to rewatch any of them. I’ll listen to the ASIB soundtrack forever, and I’ll probably rewatch HoG at some point, but overall the movies she’s been in tend to lose their way part-way through, or are just depressing.

She’s either one of or the only stand out in all 3 of her major films and whilst it’s great to see her shine like that, I’d love to watch her do it in a truly great, tightly-written movie. Something funny or comforting or just a lighter drama. Something you want to watch again and again.

It’s not really a waste of time and there’s definitely things you can learn in this video even as a fan, watching it so far has been a trip down memory lane and I’m enjoying just hearing other people talk about her career. I’m someone who used to replay the same interviews over and over again even though you know what happens.

These videos and channels are not targeting little monsters. They’re for cinephiles. I’m subscribed to it because I love video essays on films. So it’s good for cinephiles who don’t know that much about Gaga.
