I (kinda) trust Interscope (or at least Michael) but I fear that they let VIY’s potential die by releasing it too late like way too many things these past years  

It’s already getting (too) late for a summer smash, but at least VIY works perfectly as a Fall smash too!

JJK edits are still a thing. But it rather helped it have it’s own cultural moment along with its iconic choreography

We may compare it to Bloody Mary which was viral 99% mostly because of Wednesday. That’s not the case with Judas imo

Abra is simply not the type of song that would pass on radio in the US bc its too heavy/dance/loud. And in general people will play it at the club or a party but it's not necesseraly the type of music that they would listen in their headphones on a daily basis, that's why it didn't hold at #2 when it reached that peak on Spotify.

i think generally Americans are focused on how terrifying things are and how racist everything is here. Kendrick and SZA are major players in large part because they defy this country's rules of how things should be in regards to race. They are inspirational to many people here.

At the same time as this reckoning with racism is happening, queerism and transism are rising in a way that hasn't been seen since the AIDS crisis. The GP has not yet rallied to our side.

I don't think the GP is on board right now with Abracaslaybra because

1) Gaga is too queer when the GP is confused about trans people [Jesus christ, {yes Jesus, who loves queer people}] it is unbearable

2) people relating to clubbing differently. It's the end of the world here. People club with all this **** on their minds, maybe struggling to find freedom even when it is offered

3) people wanting either 
a] basic white relationship stuff [see basic white americans] [oops I'm a white American, still I would argue I'm a little bit different than basic ]
b] In opposition to that, powerful black artists challenging the status quo
 

Gaga also challenges these rules, obviously -- but she's still being burried beneath queerism while the country is focused on other things, Even when trans people are dying and next on the list to be put in concentration camps.

Queerism and transism are out of control right now, and I genuinely believe Abracadabra is not taking hold outside of queer spaces because people don't care or are afraid to engage

Finally, I am but one American monster, so take my words with a grain of salt.
