To brighten the mood a bit about this apparent DWAS US radio decline:

Top male/female duets each decade on the Billboard Hot 100 (based on decade-end charts)

1970s - Don’t Go Breaking My Heart (Elton John/Kiki Dee)
1980s - Endless Love (Diana Ross/Lionel Richie)
1990s - I’m Your Angel (Celine Dion/R. Kelly)
2000s - My Boo (Usher/Alicia Keys)
2010s - nothing 💀
2020s - looks like it’s gonna be Die with a Smile at this point. (Lady Gaga/Bruno Mars)
https://x.com/MrPopOfficial/status/1916378492482060431

And I highly doubt any other duet will be able to eclipse DWAS's success.

Plus, we can't forget of the huge worldwide success, quickly approaching a 200 days on top of the global Spotify chart and still #1 on the the billboard global 200 chart, poised to beat All I Want For Christmas Is You for the most weeks spent at No.1, we just need 2 more weeks to achieve that, and that's honestly insane lol

2010s has to be Señorita or Shallow

He clarified the parameters on a comment below:

*I classified duet as one female singer and one male singer where they’re both credited as co-leads. No features. the 2010s had no song on the decade-end list that met this criteria.

I think both don't qualify under this criteria.

Todays music is just terrible tbh.
Ordinary is such a bland song.
Anxiety is just a cheap ripoff of “Somebody that I used to know”, just like many songs released nowadays are just remakes. I never heard Luther and I think Kendricks impact is more local, at least I never see his songs charting in the Netherlands.
So happy to see Ed “overrated” Sheeran finally flopping with his new song.

And just overall, songs are short, artist apparently dont dare to write big choruses and bridges anymore, and just music is very bland. So happy to see Gaga doing well overal

Probably because especially  Shallow was released quite late in the decade

What’s funny is that Bey really lost her power at the exact moment the world started pretending she was god (2013, self titled)

I love Beyonce's music but the 8+ year long PR campaign of branding her as an touchable God is tired. And despite what anyone says, having 900 songwriters submit songs to you via SFTP in some mansion you rented for them & picking/choosing what you want to record without even meeting those writers isn't a sign of musical genius. The end product is always excellent and that is props to her as an artist for sure, but I don't think that makes you an untouchable God... she is definitely overrated to a certain extent and I say this as a genuine fan of her work lmao.

The most popular songs now is a heavily sampled somg (or more like exact same production w just new lyrics written over it) like anxiety or anaconda lol.

Chart Run: 1-2-7-9-12-10-8

6 weeks on the Billboard 200 Top 10, officially tying Born this way run of 6 weeks.

The fact what we'll probably surpass BTW number of weeks at top 10 is actually insane to me, this is what re-peaking looks like. :sis:

Everyone on Twitter is dragging MAYHEM for selling less than Nicki's Pink Friday 2 week by week in the US

Question - how did that horrible album sell so much in America? 😄

I can’t believe BTW only spent 6 weeks in the top 10 :saladga: From the century’s biggest debut, to 2 weeks at #1 to falling out of the top 10 four weeks later :messga: was the chart THAT competitive?

Adele was smashing the charts with "21" at the time. Beyonce also released "4" on june 24 and that album spent one week at #1.

So yes, the competition was very high at the time, especially from Adele. Adele actually snatched the 1# from BTW on week 3.

I just realized titles with just numbers were popular at the time, with Ed Sherran with the + :air:

Why compare to that album from 2011?

It actually came out at the end of 2023

But still, there was something fraudulent going on for sure because it barely got any streams despite having so many tracks but it still over sold
