But the math just ain't mathin... it needs to do better on streaming and it just isn't. You keep sharing the streaming # but conveniently leave out the actual Spotify/Apple Music position (because it is very low). She has more radio-friendly and streaming friendly songs on the record, why beat a dead horse? Some songs stick, others don't. It's not a slight against Gaga, it's just how it is for everybody. Yes it does seem like it has some traction on radio, but I repeat, the math ain't mathin for a Top 10 hit. It doesn't mean that the song isn't important or great, it's just the reality of the numbers... we can celebrate her success and music without drinking the kool aid. People have been posting its position on the charts on streaming and hot 100. We’ve had messy eras where singles get dropped suddenly chasing potential success of another song and it doesn’t work out resulting in two squandered singles. Judas is a testament as it was abandoned after a few weeks as a single yet is one of her highest streamed songs nowadays. Abracadabra has been a global hit, had a major viral moment, has been played everywhere, been at the top of streaming and sales, memorable performances and music video, and will likely be her first top 10 US pop radio song since Applause. Unfortunately these didn’t happen concurrently to hit US top 10 on the hot 100. However, let it live at least a typical 3 month single era. Move on to the next single in May/June with HBDUWM and let it be DWAS’ successor.

I said previously her team will let it ride and come back with another single soon. Watch them do exactly that... again no need for the defensiveness, I'm aware of what the song accomplished lol. socotra 3,276
Had Abra been released a few weeks later, it would've debuted Top 3. The obsession with the Hot 100 is bewildering when we know how volatile, arbitrary, and luck-based it is – despite having the same amount of points, there's literally a 10-spot difference between where Abra could've peaked. Does it really matter? Impact and longevity of the song is far more important – peak is irrelevant if a song free falls. It just baffles my mind how what's called a "hit" depends so much on the Hot 100. If everything was going exactly the same but Abra had debuted at #3 (which, with the exact same number of points it had in early February, would have been the case had it been released a month later instead), this wouldn't be a discussion. It's ridiculous how much is tied up in a chart. I think streaming stats are much more relevant nowadays because they're reflective of what people **actually choose to listen to**. The same fans who were bitching and moaning about A Bar Song staying at #1 for so long due to radio are now fine with DWAS being propped up in the same way. The whole chart is a joke because radio continues to make up such a huge chunk of how Billboard calculates points. tl;dr the song is a bona fide hit and idc what number it's assigned on the hot 100 12

Nagini 664
Jesus, I'm not going to respond to these comments anymore lol. My post was completely innocuous and just my opinion. How many times do I have to say that it doesn't mean the song was not successful or great? Please, please, stop the defensiveness. I am a huge supporter of Gaga and absolutely love Mayhem. It is not that deep you guys... just relax! VIY supremacy. Became my favorite song on the album. 1

As much as people criticize ARTPOP, she had some nice highs on that album. Manicure, Sex Dreams (the unproduced version please), Do What U Want, GUY... bangers. The hits that got away due to personal & PR problems. Eliminate all of Chromatica except Sour Candy.
