I was expecting TF/TFM vibes going into this album. But it hit me that she meant pre-fame outtakes (Lovechild, etc.) when she said she finally felt like she could revisit certain sounds. This album is such a cathartic and almost feels like a full circle moment! :kara:

Religion is a product to sell.

I disagree with you. Without Disease as the opening, the rest of the album wouldn't really make sense. Especially if you don't consume every Gaga interview for background. I actually think Abracadabra is a bit off where it is placed on a continuous listen.

Rest I agree with. X

I respect your opinion and Gaga’s decision. I’m glad we get to hear ALL these songs. I love to imagine eras that’s all.

I’m thinking now, maybe Disease would be better placed as the last song :oprah:.

Okay I’ll stop. Obsessed with the album. :cryga:

ok just heard the album in full with the 2 bonus in their respective places in the tracklist and it SLAYS, definetly gives the album a lot more energy, not that it needed it

I actually think Disease is a turn off compared to the rest of the album, though it’s a good song. Maybe that’s why she thought the album was not cohesive. Begin with Abracadabra and see the magic happen. It’s the “Bad Romance” of the album. Abra conects with Garden Of Eden and so on.

Disease should have been a bonus song instead of Can’t Stop The High.

But I respect your opinion and Gaga’s decision. I’m glad we get to hear ALL of these songs. I love to imagine eras that’s all.

Very happy to discuss this with differing views. Makes it so much more layered for me. And any Gaga work is!! Since we are all subjectively experience her work... And that is exactly what she wants.

The theme of the album is duality...she made that clear herself and the artwork shows it.... And the protagonist/story teller on te album is constantly drawing inspiration from the artist within to navigate life. I feel she is saying your imiganigation should be you passion and guiding light in trouble. That is why disease is the only opening.

What song do you feel should be the opening?

I think Abracadabra would be a better opening and my argument is purely based on how the songs sounds. It is Mayhem itself.

I edited my last post, I’m thinking now maybe Disease would be a better swan song. :cryga:

I actually love the song and obsessed about the Judas-esque pre-chorus back in October.

I am so happy I got you to realize the importance of disease. But you are right.... And I just realized this... It would have been cool of she switched her usual album order around. So much more Chaos

I read the mixed reviews before listening and being contrarian to a fault was determined to love it. For me, this album falls flat after Zombieboy - until then, I was grinning manically. In her Zane interview, she insists on not giving her music an 'outfit', yet she’s spent months dressed like Trent Reznor and promoting this album like it's Downward Spiral. It almost plays like a retrospective - more like a greatest hits album than something new. There would have been much less disappointment if the aesthetic had been different. So happy that she's in a good place, though. Perfect Celebrity and Killah will be on repeat.

This is weird. Lovit. But just like to know is this what Gagadaily has devolved to in the past 10 years, since I have been on here?

I have only listened to it once since its official premiere last night. I keep singing “in the Garden of Eden!”

I am depriving myself of it for now since I know I’ll have it on repeat and eventually know it by heart. I will listen to it in its entirety later on my 1 hour flight after a nice whiskey and cola.

Blade of Grass made me blubber, imagining it from a ‘Brown Eyes’ Gaga perspective
