Question: anyone know if there's a digital version from her site? I remember with Joanne, when you bought a physical copy, it came with a digital download. I wanna hear Can't Stop This High on my first listen with the entire album

As a hardcore swiftie, I am so glad that all of you (try to) keep insulting "HBDYWM" because it sounds like Taylor

Looking forward to that one a lot :ladyhaha:

I really wanted to see how GGD really feels about this album, mainly to inject a little positivity in the last few pages of this thread, so I went all the way back to the pages where the album released in NZ and categorized your reviews into numbers.

I read 50 reviews / comments in total, only taking into account users who actually gave a review of the entire body of work (I excluded replies where they only praised/complained about one or two songs in particular).

About 14 users praised the record, using words like "magnum opus", "loved the record" & "No skips"

About 22 users left a positive review, saying they liked the record, except for maybe one or two songs

About 5 users had a more lukewarm review, mainly saying they liked a couple of songs, but will need more time to digest the album and let it grow.

About 7 users had negative feelings towards the album, saying they were disappointed and could not get on board.

Only 1 user panned the album, calling it her worst work.

OVERALL, with this little cute, obviously not air-tight sample, GGD seems to positively/critically praise Mayhem. Average users score is about 8.8

I suspect critic scores will land around low 80's, high 70's. If we are lucky, this could be Gaga's highest rated album in her career.

Thank you! This quantitative review gives a more accurate picture on how we feel :firega:

Oh My god! I’m currently at zombie boy, but wow the vibe of this album already. Funky, electronic, also Gessafelstein song is REALLY A gessafelstein song. Even though the bit is a little bit more uplifted it has him written all over the place. I love it so far.

by the way it was written 2 hours ago, just uploaded :air:

it is really a solid album.

Monster7

Disease: 9/10

Abracadabra: 10/10

Garden of Eden: 8/10. The Fame little granddaughter I like it so much, the guitars. Chorus is classic Gaga earworm.

Perfect Celebrity: 9/10. The vibes, the instrumentals, rock and production. I'm here for it all. Princess Die reference, the key change in last chorus:messga:

Vanish Into You: 8/10. I loved the prechorus and the lyrics. I felt something was missing tho, my expectations were maybe too high for this one

Killah: 9/10. The beat is insane, the delivery is so catchy. It's giving 70s psychedelic a little maybe. I know a lot of people won't like this one as much, but the more experimental outro has me SHOCKED. I've been listening lately to old stuff since I watched A Complete Unknown and this reminded me of that sound but with a modern interesting triste.

Zombieboy: 10/10. There is absolutely not a single bad thing I could say about this song. It's perfect, start to finish, single material, background vocales, rythm OMG Gaga :kara:

LoveDrug: 9/10. The album is shaping up to be my favourite of hers OMFG. This one is amazing as well. I'm so here for these 80s vibe with a Gaga twist. It doesn't feel like The Weeknd / Future Nostalgia. It has these BTW vibes for the heavy guitars but personally I love this type of sound.

How Bad Do U Want Me: 7/10. I understand why some people were saying it was giving Taylor Swift. It's good, and it would be a solid 8 but doesn't fit in the album so far, doesn't it?

Don't Call Tonight: 9/10. Vanish Into You musically speaking but better. I'm sure this Live will strike harder.

Shadow of A Man: 10/10. I don't know how to explain it, but it is

The Beast: 6/10. It didn't click for me at first, strange cause I love almost all her ballads. The bridge and final chorus, being more intense and powerful improved it a lot by the end

Blade of Grass: 10/10. Which song does it sample? I felt like I could recognized it. The lyrics are just :bradley:Could've been the perfect closer.

Die With A Smile: 9/10. Don't get me wrong, alone is a 10, but Blade of Grass is top notch and feels like the true ending of the album.

5 mins to go

When Chromatica released, I had just finished my final year of high school (cut short because of covid), and now here i am 5 years later, with a degree, masters degree, and about to go travel the world for 3 months on Tuesday next week :bradley:

Just finished my first listen.

I think this is her best album since Born This Way (but maybe I just have a high from the hype).

Very strong start and very strong ending, the only songs I didn't really enjoy at first listen were LoveDrug, How Bad Do U Want Me, Don't Call Tonight and The Beast but they might grow on me.

Songs 1 to 7 are what I've wanted from Gaga since 14 years  Songs 8 to 10 feel weaker than the rest of the album and we go back strong from songs 11 to 14
