This is the funk-rock infused album I've been waiting for 17 years.

She didn't ride the nostalgia hype for the sake of drawing attention and instead created something unique, mysterious and fun.

I might have BTW in a special place in my heart because of teenage-years memories, but this is her best album, without a doubt.

Every single album she always has different inspirations sonically, Scheiße is no You & I, Repley is no fun tonight, abracadabra is no vanish into you,  in the interview with Zane she even said she purposefully tried not to “give the music an outfit” it’s by design that not everything sounds the same or has the same feel

I’m seeing a lot of people saying the first listen was jarring but after listening another time, it’s clear how strong it is, and actually how thematically cohesive it is.

This album, without a doubt, whether you like it or not, is Gaga at her most authentic. I think this is Stefani Germanotta from the early 2000's before she became Gaga. It immediately reminded me of her earliest work from The Fame, pre The Fame even like Red and Blue. If you've listened to her oldest work, you can hear it: the theatrical, almost cheesy melodies, the Bowie-like guitar riffs, the old summer guitar disco motifs, the retro synths, the softer, more conventional kind of pop that still has a Gaga-esque twist.

This is most likely what she always wanted to sound like before the public perception of "Lady Gaga" swallowed her during the heavy Dance Pop/ EDM era of music in the 2010's. Mayhem is what she had originally intended Gaga to be.

Not to say any of her previous albums were not authentic, but so happy she finally felt that she could express her most authentic self through Mayhem. I can hear it.

I haven't listened to it yet, but the fact that everyone loves and/or hates every song, makes me think this album is a lot stronger. Yeah, there were people that expected the Album to be filled with a bunch of Diseases + Abracadabras, but I think she made it very clear that those were only one part of the Album. I mean imagine if The Fame just had Songs like Poker Face and Love Game and didn't serve the great variety it did. 

I am listening to some of the 2006-2008 unreleased Songs to get hyped up since those and allegedly Summerboy and Disco Heaven are the vibe (?). 

Also, can I say - I am so happy everyone at least seems to agree it is a record that feels inspired? I liked Chromatica and Joanne but neither of them had real milage to me in the long run. Also... what fun deep-cuts do y'all think would fit this Album on Tour? Ahhh! I can't wait...

WDYM negative reviews?? All I see is widespread positive praise. Yeah a few lukewarm opinions here and there, but 7/10 are loving the record, and for little monster standard, thats a huge win

So so many negative reactions, which is truly turning me off. I haven't even listened to the album as it only comes out in the UK in 8 hours, but I'm so disgusted at how negative fans have been so far.

Yes, everyone's entitled to their own opinions but if you're a truly Lady Gaga fan you should perhaps be a little more respectful and understanding, and also respectful to other fans who haven't had the opportunity yet to listen to album

Don't worry. I even left the group chat on Telegram because people were bashing the album nearly 10 minutes after it came out. 

The album is amazing and you'll definitely find some songs that you're gonna like

Guys don't listen to negative reviews if you like it yourself that should be all that matters. The most popular artists, albums, films etc in the world have people who hate them. Nothing can be liked by everyone.
