Initial impressions. WOW.

Garden Of Eden - Very The Fame, very Manicure, very classic Gaga. I love her ability to self reference while still making it fresh and catchy. She's taking us back to 2008 here.

Perfect Celebrity - Holy ****, she's finally giving us Metal/RockGa mixed with pop, I love it. The verses are very The Cure/Depeche Mode (the band, not the Gaga song), and the choruses are almost early 2000s pop-punk/Avril Lavigne.

Vanish Into You - Summerboy if it were produced by Justice. I love the glitchy Daft Punk-iness of it.

Killah - Not what I was expecting AT ALL from Gesaffelstein's usual stuff. Reminds me of Sweet Relief by Kimbra and David Bowie. Sexy, playful song about being so good in bed that she kills her boyfriend.

Zombieboy - HOLY ****!!! EXACTLY what I was hoping for from the LQ Disease snippet. Reminds me of Rockwell's Somebody's Watching Me and Supernature by Cerrone. Full on 80s FunkGa. Again, this album seems to have A LOT of influence from Justice. If you've never listened to them, please check them out.

LoveDrug - Wow, she's going VERY 80s on this album, not what I was expecting at all from Disease and Abracadabra. I'm a huge fan of 80s music so I'm LIVING for Mayhem.

How Bad Do U Want Me - Only You by Yazoo. This is a heartbreaking power ballad, wow. THIS needs to be a huge mainstream hit. I rarely get emotional but this song almost makes me cry.

Don't Call Tonight - So far the only track I'm not instantly connecting with. I still love the vibe and production, but this might be the one filler for me. I'm sure it'll grow on me in time. I do appreciate how over the top 80s it is. It could be in some kind of cheesy action parody movie like Turbo Kid.

Shadow Of A Man - I LOVE this. I know Justice didn't work on this album but their DNA is all throughout it. I knew exactly where this song was going from the teaser at the end of The Chromatica Ball, and I'm not disappointed. The Michael Jackson dance at the end of TCB makes sense now. She literally sounds like MJ when she screams in this song.

The Beast - In The Air Tonight. I feel like every song on this album used a hit 80s song as the blueprint, which is very clever. Mayhem is clearly a tribute to the music she grew up listening to. Hearing hints of Whitney in her vocal delivery, too.

Blade Of Grass - Beautiful tribute to Michael. Sonically it's kind of Hold My Hand part 2. Not my favorite on the album but I understand its personal significance to her so I still appreciate it. This and Don't Call Tonight are the only two tracks where my interest started to drift.

Overall - Holy sh!t, what an experience. Die With A Smile totally makes sense at the end, too. Such a calming track that feels like a release after all the upbeat, high energy tension that comes before it. I don't even want to give it a number rating, I love it as a whole.

Garden of Eden is definitely the gayest, most c*ntiest song on the album. The structure of the song is amazing and that outro… Might need to only get used to the beat in the chorus, which didn’t hit as hard as I expected. But an earworm nonetheless.

That makes it even funnier that espn uses garden of eden for F1 2025 Promo :laughga:

red wine, konvict, gaga (oh-oh-eh)

Gagaism

I’d love MVs for Don’t Call Tonight and Shadow of a Man and then she could go happily build her family :pole:

This album is why Lady Gaga is unique and inimitable. We have her magnum opus.

Stands Out: Disease, Abracadabra, Shadow Of A Man, Killah, Perfect Celebrity, The Beast and garden Of Eden

She made the right choice with the singles. Abra and disease are the strongest songs. I enjoyed vanish into you, shadow of a man and zombieboy. I have mixed feelings about the rest.

The album is very 2000s coded. Sounds like gwen and nelly furtado had a baby for some songs.

How bad you want me is so TS

I completely agree, there are no songs that would have been better singles in terms of chart potential. The rest of the album is way too weird.

OMGGGGG

I just treated myself to Garden of Eden before midnight because I was so unhyped for it after the snippets and...

OMFGGGG THAT'S SO GOOD

The production

The chorus

The outro

I HAD SO MUCH CHILLS LISTENING TO IT I CAN'T :traumatica:

I can't believe what I thought would be tacky ended up being this MASTERPIECE :messga:

I just can think about that particular comment destroying Gaga and judging on the 10 second snippet, how must they be feeling now OMG this deserves to be a single :traumatica:

Yes!!!!! I heard a bit of one of those early The Fame unreleased tracks, maybe "retro dance freak," maybe "dirty ice cream" or "disco heaven."
